I am 100% sure there will be a rule change come next year. It is typical of Belicheat to do shit like this.

Glad the Ravens lost, sucks the Pats won.
As a friend of mine said: Q: What's worse than a playoff game between the Ravens and the Pats called by Cris Collinsworth? A: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I need McC to find us a kam chancellor. He looked like the best player on the field last night. it was also stated by someone previously, but that dude is the most Sean Taylor like player I've seen. Freak athlete, huge hitter and big play specialist.

If the Refs told the D captain, then tough sh** that you were unprepared for the change-up. Call a time out and adjust. On the other hand, if the Ref did not tell the D captain, well ... that's just more of the inconsistent reffing that happened throughout the game.

They were 10-6 Carolina was 7-8-1 not even close. Not saying the Eagles would have won anything but still

That's not on New England. The refs and Baltimore should know that they're going to push the rules. Harbaugh got a 15 yarder cause he couldn't control himself. In a win or go home situation, everyone, coaches included, need to check their emotions.

This is what it comes down too. He should have called a timeout to adjust if he was that concerned

He was with the Hawks for their 2011, 2012 and 2013 drafts. Of the 30 picks from those three drafts (and according to PFT) only six players are no longer in the NFL. Three from 2011 and three 2013.

Yup, they even showed the ref informing the defense on replay. Belicheat may have gamed the system again but this time it was legal.

Again, it's up to the refs and Baltimore. As long as prior to putting the ball in play: (1) NE reports to the refs about the change in eligibility; and (2) Refs tell D's captain, then (3) NE can snap the ball once in play. Are D's given more time to adjust if a OL reports eligible? Do refs delay placing the ball in those situation? I highly doubt it. It's on the D to call a time out. Harbaugh got caught with his pants down. Simple as that.

re: NFL divisional round thread.
The refs should have announced which receiver was ineligible and give the defense the chance to identify the ineligible receiver prior to the snap.
In the same sense that the refs announce eligible receivers when they are wearing numbers considered 'ineligible' e.g. tackle eligible. The refs announce player #72 is reporting as eligible. The refs should have announced player #34 is reporting as ineligible. But I don't fault the refs for not picking up what the Pats were doing because it was happening fast. I knew something was up but couldn't pin point it myself in realtime either, i was drinking too. The Pats gained an advantage snapping the ball before the Ravens had a chance to identify the ineligible receiver thus forcing them to waste a defender covering an ineligible receiver. They had no way to know which receiver wasn't eligible and moreover the Pats made an effort for the ineligible receiver to look like he was eligible. Like I said, tip of the hat to the hoodie. Quote:

Hey, Harbaugh "gamed the system" by preserving his timeouts and taking a penalty rather than calling a timeout, adjusting his defense and bringing the issue to the Refs attention.
