Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread

it's ridiculous that we do not have a kickoff man. we NEED touchbacks on kickoffs, it's worth a roster spot if forbath or way can't do it.

Good point. I agree that it is worth a roster spot if Way can't do the job. Forbath has proven that he can't do it, although he is a good FG kicker. We have players who can't get off the bench, so cut one of them to add a KO specialist.

Now, we're even pooching KO's out of fear of a big return which, of course, sets up the opponents at the 40 yard-line anyway.

Poor field position is absolutely killing us game after game. Something must be done about it.

Wilson is great, but I wonder how efficient Kirk or RG3 would be with an average starting field position of the 40 yard line against a below average defense. Seattle's gunner on punts is amazing. If Roberts didn't call fair catch every time, that heat seeking missile would have taken his head off.

We don't. Look how Seattle kept subbing d-linemen throughout the game and look at our depth in the same department.

Amerson and Breeland are talented, and we have talented pass rushers, but that's it. Our ILBs are suspect, we have no dependent safeties, and our interior d-linemen are banged up.

Throw in an offense that can't stay on the field for most of the time, you're going to get what we got last night.

I'm not saying the D is perfect or justify their flaws on injuries. But we don't have the defense that's going to carry an inept offense, which is what we had last night.

A very good O can hid the deficiencies of a poor D a la Eagles or vice versa. Unfortunately we have neither right now.

To be fair, injuries on the D-line have killed our chance to do the same. But, in general, you are right.
