I respect his opinion but dude you're the punter. You're disposable. If your coach tells you to be quiet on the subject then do it. Keep you highly paid job kicking a damn football. Stop making waves and do this stuff when you're retired.

Yeah right. He was fired and they're just saying he's retired to show respect.

Preifer is a dickhead if what Kluwe says is true no doubt and I obviously don't agree with Preifer's views, but I think Kluwe was released more than likely due to it just being his time to go. 8 years with one team for a punter is rather impressive.

I love Kluwe, not just for his social views, but for the fact he's a huge gamer nerd, but I think you might just have to let it go dude.

Interesting he would wait until now to say anything. Doesn't mesh at all with (the admittedly little) I've heard about Preifer. And what got him cut from the Raiders then?

Just like the duck Dynasty BS, Kluwe is free to say what he wants, and his employer is free to let him go if they wish.

In the article he states that his release was most likely related to his pay vs performance as well as the outspoken part. I don't particularly like the titles of the article because it doesn't reflect what he says.

Also, when you have the owner telling you to continue doing what you are doing, what the hell is the guy supposed to do?

Me personally, I think Kluwe was cut for his performance vs off-field drama they have to deal with. If Kluwe was the top punter in the NFL, a team may overlook the extra media attention. As it is, he's a average punter and wasn't worth dealing with the extra media headache and high pay.

@RapSheet

#Bears QB Jay Cutler’s contract: 7 years, $126 million with $54M guaranteed

Also, what the fuck is this world coming to when a average QB like Cutler gets a 7yr/126mil (54m guaranteed) contract??? Have the Bears lost their fucking minds? No way I'd pay that for him....lol At least Flacco can say....I won a Super Bowl.

That's the going rate for good Qb's. If you let him hit the market, you can best be assured that a team like Minnesota, Tampa or Tennessee are calling his agent. Like it or not Cutler has the talent that's going to command that type of contract. They liked what they saw from him and gave him the deal. They didn't have much of a choice IMO.

This should make some of you happy ....

The Giant Exile

Brandon Jacobs retires ........

Brandon Jacobs, two-time World Champion Giants running back has just taken to twitter to announce his departure from the game.
“After 9 years in this whirlwind business they call the NFL, I am proud to announce that I am hanging up my cleats. I’ve had an amazing run and I appreciate all of the support from the fans through the good and the bad. The New York Giants are a great organization and I am proud to have been a part of it for so long. I love my coaches and my teammates and will miss them as well as the game itself but I am healing well from my surgery and I look forward to running around with my kids for years to come”

Re: Around the NFL...Wildcard Weekend Style

Glad to see that career highlight video of Brandon Jacobs there, Giantone. If only he had won a couple Super Bowls or something that would be more relevant to the career he had. I guess in 9 years of playing NFL football he only had 1 career highlight worth posting. Thanks man. You're definitely not creeping closer to troll territory with every post.
