Re: Final Cuts Looming - any surprises on the horizon
Since Crawford is done (smh), I don't think Wilson gets cut. I've been watching LeRibeus and most plays he looks either unable to reach a guy to block or is simply not driving his man back.

That is exactly what it is seems like, I think Royster and Williams get cut, Thompson will be our Sproles version on 3rd down.

Re: Final Cuts Looming - any surprises on the horizon
I just finished watching the game I recorded it earlier today. I like what I saw from Pat White. Grossman did have a nice game but do we keep him as insurance? Pat White has something about him I just think we need to find a way to keep him this year. If we do intend to trade Kirk this offseason then we should release Grossman and keep Pat White.
As for the RB position I think the surprise is we keep Keiland Williams and either trade or release Royster. Williams can do the same things as Royster but he can also play FB. I think Chris Thompson may make the 53 man roster as RB/PR/KR. Jamison will be signed to the PS. The WR position is set with Garcon,Hankerson,Morgan,Moss, and Robinson. I think they may keep Briscoe or Lewis , whoever is the better special teams player. I don't see us cutting Josh Wilson we have to many young guys already back there.

Re: Final Cuts Looming - any surprises on the horizon
I think McRib is out. He definitely gets manhandled at the POA and is damn near useless on the second level. I think he has the talent and build but he's either lazy or not motivated.
Sucks to see Crawford go. Minnifield and Biggers both make roster I think and play nickel/slot.

Re: Final Cuts Looming - any surprises on the horizon
It's too bad White can't go to the practice squad. I still think he's too limited as a passer to keep over Rex. But I will say for a guy who's been out of football he's played well, he has some value as a read option QB but I don't think he sticks here.

Re: Final Cuts Looming - any surprises on the horizon
Buffalo ought to at least be making inquiries to the Redskins about PW. They are the type of team that would benefit from having him in as a 2nd/3rd qb, and we know Kolb is about useless if he gets hit a couple times.

How about the Jets? They should be banging down our door for a trade.
We could end up with a Dallas <vomit> Triplets type trade that sets us up for a decade. |

I would gladly trade Cousins to the Jets...after the season when I know they have a top 2 pick and for more than 1 first rounder..

Re: Final Cuts Looming - any surprises on the horizon
Haha to the people suggesting Wilson would be cut. David Amerson has been borderline pathetic during the pre-season.
Wilson has been one of the best bargain FA signings in recent years. Cutting him and assuming Biggers/Amerson can suddenly cover would be a huge mistake. Especially since the other guy (DHall) is infamous for his cover skills, or lack there of. Pat White will be gone, he's bad. Grossman will be gone, he wastes a roster spot. Stallworth will be gone, the heartwarming return is over. LeRibeus will be gone, Matthews replaced him as backup C and frankly he sucks. Niles Paul hopefully will be gone, We've seen more out of Reed in 2 weeks than Paul in 2 years. Gomes hopefully will be gone, I'm shocked he's still here. Nothing but terrible coverage from that guy since day 1. Jamison goes to the PS. Thompson makes the team as 4th RB.

He and LeRibeus are starting a short list of Shanahan draft busts.

Does Bruce dig deep and talk about Byrd coming over and would that solve the safety issues we have? I think we can't afford any more than what we already have though. Possible? |

Wait, you guys think Pat White has value? He's a 27 year old with zero accuracy and his only NFL highlight was getting knocked out.
