To me, Antonio Brown has the kick/punt returner spot locked up. If I'm wrong, and Dyson gets it, then someone please hand me an ice pick. |

In fact, I'm really starting to wonder why Darnerian McCants was cut, who overall has clearly out-performed Jacobs in the short amount of time McCants was on the field. |

I have to disagree with the McCants better than Jacobs comment. Jacobs is faster, sure handed, runs precise routes, and plays ST. McCants is taller.

Re: Jacobs on the hot seat?
McCants may not be as fast as jacobs, but normally he has great hands and a nice vertical game. I can't say too much about jacobs, because I really havent seen him do anything. Dyson has made a couple of nice catches in our earlier losses in the preseason. I don't think gibbs is gonna keep 6 recievers because of all of the talent we have at TE/FB/HB this year. We have speedy recievers and a variety of plug and play guys to line up behind or beside the LOS. Seeing a 4 wideout set is a rarity and so I'd imagine only 4 will be activated on gameday.

Re: Jacobs on the hot seat?
It's tough deciding on the final roster this year. Do we keep Groom or go with newly signed Mohr? Do we hold on to Jacobs or let him go? Rock or Nemo...or both? Zak Keasey showed some skills..do we keep him? Prioleau, Stoutmire or Clark? With all these questions, only one thing is for sure. Ade Jimoh WILL make the team AGAIN!!!!

Re: Jacobs on the hot seat?
I believe we'll keep both Rock and Nemo - Nemo is going to be a very valuable player for us in the future. Ade Jimoh is actually a pretty decent special teams guy....just leave 'em on the special teams!!! It's hard to say about the other guys...Keasey has been a fighter....I think right now...we have to build some depth for our defense...especially in the secondary.

Re: Jacobs on the hot seat?
I agree Ade is a good special teams player. In my opinion, if you are not a punter, kicker, or a long snapper, you need to show you can play besides special teams. If there was only one spot left, and it's between Jimoh and Jacobs....I would cut Jimoh. (although we are extremely short on CB's right now)

Re: Jacobs on the hot seat?
Although, if you have a choice between an injured Jacobs who may not be able to contribute at all for you, or an Ade Jimoh who can at least tribute to special teams and defense if everybody else is injured or hit by a truck, then I'd have to pick Jimoh. Of course, if Jacobs is healthy, I'd pick him. I'm afraid, though, he might be cut before we can see what he can do for us!
I'm thinking Antonio Brown is going to get alot of playing time at wide receiver this year...I know he'll be mainly a return guy, but he can be a dangerous guy!

Re: Jacobs on the hot seat?
Does anyone remember this same conversation concerning Betts last preseason?

Re: Jacobs on the hot seat?
Yep.....fast forward to next offseason.....what are the chances of Betts not being in a Redskins uniform?

On T. Jacobs: I would like to see the Skins keep him over Dyson simply because of the potential factor and quite frankly he's younger. More upside. I just don't think Dyson has clearly solidified his spot on the team. Although he's shown more than Jacobs, who hasn't shown anything! He would be the last of the receivers from the Spurrier era wouldn't he? |
