Warrick Holdman
Any one have news on the Holdman situation. I thought we offered him a contract a few weeks ago but i have not been hearing anything about it lately. With these new LB's does that mean he turned us down? I thought he would be a good addition to our 'backers.

He's still out there, along with Gold and Barrow. No one has picked up any of them

Think there's any correlation between said silent phone and the fact that he's represented by some dude named Poston? Hmmmm....... Could be!

There's some speculation going around that Jammie Sharper could be released from the Texans after June1. He'd be an awesome pickup for the Skins if they could make the contract/cap work.
Washington, Arrington, & Sharper would be a sick combo. |

I think every team is basically sitting on their hands and checkbooks until after the draft.

I wish I didnt just go look at our players cap figures... our entire cap is setup to have money for two years, then we have to cut our whole team and be in cap hell.

I looked at the cap numbers a while back - I think in 2006 we have a 90K cap number for only 22 players. But remember, after 2005, the new tv contract is going to kick in, I bet that will create a BIG jump in the cap number for 2006.

Are there any players that will/could restructure their contracts in '06, won't that help with the cap space also?

You think Lavar would restructure again after all that...Brunell will be cut or retire that year. Does anyone know if the cap hit is the same if you cut a player or if he retires? I know that if you cut or trade a guy you have to count the whole bonus but not the contract, other than that Im not sure.

I am pretty sure that a retirement accelerates the bonus in the same as a cut. I don't remember the player but I am pretty sure a couple of years ago a (moderately well known) player worked out a deal where they filed their retirement papers after June 1 to lessen the cap hit on the team.

Did Ken Harvey not do something like this? Although, I'm not sure we could call Ken 'moderately' well known. I could be wrong. Just seems to ring a bell.
