Washington Free Agents Signings

The Commanders are re-signing TE Zach Ertz, source confirms.

One-year, $6.25 million deal. Could reach $9 million with incentives (
@TomPelissero
1st).

Not a surprise Ertz is back, but a big move regardless. Huge RZ target for Jayden Daniels last season.

Any other skins free agents, let’s talk here

I'm still holding onto hope for sinnot learning from ertz. so 1 more year, and more of a shared workload moving forward for sinnot with a rookie contract is a win.

Glad Ertz is back. He played well last year. Had a few drops but overall did very good. Sinnott needs to get in the mix next year. Kid has wheels and can be a force. I was disappointed he didn't get more chances last year honestly.

The coaches said that Ertz played better than they expected last year, although I imagine Sinnott is going to get more chances this year.

Washington definitely wants to get an edge defender. Among options: Trade for Trey Hendrickson; sign Khalil Mack (and perhaps draft one as well) or sign Josh Sweat. Different costs for sure; different levels of performance and long-term viability.

DE incoming

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings

My best guess right now of what we do

DE Mack
Safety Talanoa Hufanga

Cornerback market might get too hot for us.

Mack would be a welcome signing. Getting up there in age, but still an impactful player. Add a guy like Dayo Odeyingbo and it could be a nice rotation with Dorance Armstrong.

I'm kinda surprised that we haven't resigned Chinn, I thought he turned into a good player toward ending of the season.

Still could see it happening

Also, who’s the replacement for Allen? They are going to need another rotation DT…I would think who maybe play the run stouter? Or a 1 technique to let them change it up inside?

Likely comes in the draft. It's deep at DT, supposedly.

Javon Kinlaw, DT from Jets. 3ys/45 million/30 guaranteed. He was a 49er before his year with Jets.

At first glance, I dont get Kinlaw, he doesn't seem better than allen, who was a Captain, and not cheaper either and has a knee injury history. The only thing is he is 27. For below average stats, why not just draft a guy and save 10M a year? Or just keep Allen for a year while you groom a drafted guy? At first glance this seems like a biased hire, since I assume Peters drafted him. His performance doesnt seem to match the $

He's probably going to want to test the market. I don't really understand why top receivers make over $30 million and top safeties are in the $18 million range for the most part. I understand the importance of a great wide receiver but I'd take 2 top safeties and then 2nd level WRs.
