Re: All about Da'Ron Payne
It wasn't the "sexy" pick at 13 but it's a good choice and as I said, given BAs draft history I will agree with his moves.

Re: All about Da'Ron Payne
Solid pick, no complaints. We've lacked a stud DT since Cornie Griffin, hope this helps. At the least he should really help the run defense, and best case scenario he turns into a pass-rushing nightmare too.

Re: All about Da'Ron Payne
Hurst was the better choice IMO but his heart issue has scared teams, Payne is a good DT tho and with Allen again, should be a huge lift to our Run D.. Allen has to stay healthy

Re: All about Da'Ron Payne
This was an awesome pick.
D-Ron has more versatility than Vea and can play inside and out along the D-line. He is a monster vs the run and has big play ability. The college playoff this past year he dominated first against top notch Oline Georgia and extremely strong Oline at Clemson. The guy is a weight room junkie and is only 20. His frame can still fill out. D-Ron and Allen along side one another is gonna be something else. This is what gets me going. Preston Smith and Ryan Kerrigan - no excuses not to flirt/acheive with double digits sacks from the outside. |

This is the aspect I'm most excited about, RK and PS should love a beefed up line.

Re: All about Da'Ron Payne
Yep, he has a good motor but he never gets fully to the QB..

Re: All about Da'Ron Payne
Allen, Anderson and Payne have chemistry having played together,
He will just slide right in. Tomsula will fix whatever weaknesses he has, he could be better than Allen from what i’ve Read.

Re: All about Da'Ron Payne
No complaints. Great pick. Redskins have adults in the draft room, at least for last night.
I just feel w/ Payne and Allen, we need to go to the base 4-3. |

If we play better in 4-3 instead of 3-4 as our base defense, changing is not that big a deal. The world will not come to an end and nobody needs to feel responsible that the 3-4 did not work as well. Let our personnel abilities and performance dictate the choice, not a person in an office that is throwing darts at a board. |

Re: All about Da'Ron Payne
I love how there is still all this talk about switching to a 4-3 years after we "switched" to a 3-4. Fact is, they align both ways (and have for years), maybe it's 60/40 - 50/50 - 40/60 ratio of 4-3 vs 3-4 lineups...whatever...they don't sit in a 3-4 all game. The difference now is, they actually have a guy that is versatile to be in both packages.
