Draft Day Meet up!

Alrighty, draft day is April 23rd. Last year the Skins opened the stadium and several warpathers got together. - A good time was had by all. It was a little disjointed as several people were present but we didn't get hooked up.

Maybe, just maybe, this year we can get a good crowd together - toss a football around, drink a little beer, eat a little food, etc. - if Daseal shows up, maybe we can get together and have an intervention to rid him of his Spurrier addiction.

I am definitely going - anyone else interested? I'll probably go even if the weather is bad - as they have great prices on Skins stuff. If you get there early, you can get some really good stuff at good prices.

If you're interested in getting together - I'll gather cell phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc. and see if we can't all get on the same page. My wife made a sign last year but, since it was on wood, they wouldn't let me take it in. I'll try and talk her into making a banner this year.

Good deal, as the day approaches, I'll see what I can do to arrange the meet. I plan to be there when the doors open.

What I'll probably do is pick a spot on the field where we can meet and then check back there for anyone who comes later. I hope we can get a good group - if the weather is okay, we may be able to get some football in.

I definitely hope so. I'll try and invite the woman and see if she wants to come too. She can play some football like a pro.

Yeah, I was hoping my wife & son could make it and turn it into a family picnic - but she is taking the toddler and visiting her parents for the weekend.

(BTW, I am so proud - Not only does my 2 year old son love to watch football, he knows who his Dad's favorite team is, knows "go long", can throw (sort of), catch (sort of), spike and hike a football, AND he likes watching cheerleaders).

I'll be there again this year to meet up with Warpathers and if you don't see me look for my picture on the front page of the Washington Post's Sports Section like last year.

My son and I had a great day with the guys we met and there is nothing like going down on the field and looking back up at the seats, and diving across the end zone for a play touchdown, looking at the names in the Ring of Fame and talking about each player, and getting JoeRedskin to buy everyone beer ALL DAY is what I am looking forward to.

I'll keep checking in to see where we'll meet this year.
