Cousins Open to Trade.

According to cbssports.com:

"According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Cousins is "open" to a trade out of Washington.

It's not a massive surprise, mainly because Robert Griffin III is the starting quarterback for Washington and Cousins, like most quarterbacks, wants to play and wants to start.

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora believes if a deal was something the Redskins worked on with another team, it could likely occur around the 2013 NFL Combine. That's certainly what Cousins would prefer, since it would give him ample time to get prepared with his new team and spend a full offseason wherever he theoretically lands.

It would also give the Redskins (in theory) draft picks in the 2013 NFL Draft, something they sorely need, with their No. 2 overall pick going to the Rams.

According to La Canfora, the idea of landing a second-round pick (much less a first) isn't something that looks likely to happen at this point. Much more likely is a mid-round pick with the potential to move up depending on performance.

Cousins had a very strong relationship with Kyle Shanahan, who's returning from a Caribbean vacation on Monday and is set to become the Browns offensive coordinator when he returns."

Looks like Schefter continues to act as a mouthpiece for the Shanahans. I feel certain that Kyle Shanahan will ask the Browns to trade for Cousins.

I also see that Jason LaCanfora continues in his role as The Clown by suggesting that the Skins would trade Cousins for a conditional mid-round pick. There is no way that the Skins are going to trade Cousins for less than a high second round pick, IMO. Also, if the Skins think that Kyle and the Browns want Cousins bad enough, they may insist on a lower round pick or a player in the deal, as well.

I might as well predict something here. I'll say that if the Skins decide to deal Cousins to Cleveland, they will be able to get a high second round pick and they will swap one or more lower round picks with Cleveland as part of the deal, receiving earlier picks in return.

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.

Should have traded him after 2012 when he had higher value. Like most young quarterbacks these days that looked great in their first few games or season, he regressed badly as defensive coordinators familiarized themselves with him
and exploited his weaknesses. There are teams out there where he wouldn't even be a #2 right now, and I wouldn't call him a starter anywhere. I can't see him being worth more than a 6th rounder, but that is my opinion.

There are always plenty of teams in need of a QB. I don't think his play this year hurt his value in the long run at all. All it takes is one team and with Kyle in Cleveland they could be that team if he feels strongly enough about Cousins.

It takes more than one team to drive the price up. If there is only one bidder the price will stay low. Alex Smith went for a 2nd rounder and a conditional pick after having a passer rating over 100 in the season before he was traded. Considering that how could anyone think Cousins is worth as high as a second?
Cousins was great in two 2012 starts, he was terrible in 2013, your last impression is what counts.

Fine with me....we need more picks.
I'd settle for a third round but a second would be nice.
We can get a couple UDFA QBs after the draft.

I think a 4th is the best they could get for KC.

Tend to agree, they might be able to swing a 3rd. I would keep him as insurance for another year and trade him next year for whatever they can get.

there will be no trade value after this upcoming season for KC. He'll be in the fourth yr of his deal. With a fourth rd pick there may not be a team option for the fifth yr., wait a yr and he's a FA or restricted FA, giving no bargaining power to the team.

Pat White.

No but really, I wouldn't mind Josh McCown, since he blew up with the Bears. I don't mind an older vet stepping in. Preferably though, unless we get a 2nd or at bare minimum a 3rd rounder for Cousins, I'd rather we just hold onto him again.

I really don't want Vick and I feel like he could start for a team that's hurting for a QB (Jags, Raiders, Vikes, etc)

I'd take a flyer on Colt McCoy. Don't believe he's on our radar though

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.

RG3 is coming off a bad year with two major knee operations. I wouldn't get rid of a quality young back up for a 3rd or 4th rounder. What if RG3 twists his knee in training camp? Then what? Is that 3rd or 4th rounder going to be worth it? If Clev offers a proven player then I'd listen.
