Skins v Eagles post game thread

Fresh thread time.

A tale of two halves. Seems like we got ambushed early on by their high tempo offense and our slow start on offense only compounded the problem.

Griffin looked a lot better in the second half. Something to build on going forward.

Glad to see a comeback. I think we beat GB next week and start a streak. Just wait

Sucked that it took the offense so long to finally get going, but at least they got back on track and made a game of it. Very positive going forward. Still need to address the dumbass penalties.

I will say our D couldn't tackle at all tonight, I was pretty confident we would win tonight but that's what the NFL is about. Ask Tampa yesterday.

Too many penalties as usual. Even if they recovered the inside Morgan was off sides. That stuff needs to ne addressed.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread

Someone mentioned this in the game thread. RG3 got hit a couple of times, but I'm glad he did and shook it off.

My big concerns going forward are:

- Alf's running game
- Lack of pass rush
- And our perennial issue with the Safety position

Things to look forward to:

- A midseason form RG3
- Hank developing his WR play
- Helu pass blocking as the 3rd down back

Why are you worried about Morris? He had one bad fumble but that pitch was on RG3. Not worried about Morris. I'm more worried about the shitty blocking I saw.

I'm not THAT worried about him, but I just expected him to be better. Hopefully the game shook off his rust.

AlfMo will get it rolling, if he doesn't we will see Helu get it going.

I thought we did generate some rush but had problems because of the lack of knowledge of the offense. Next week I think we will see some of the different packages we saw in the preseason that helped generate a pass rush. GB does have a suspect t problem. Rak and Kerrigan should create pressure.

The safety problem is going to have to really work itself out. Rambo made some
plays and made some rookie mistakes. Though he played much better as the game went on.

My issues are with the Oline. They didnt dominate up front at all. Last year the run game worked because of their play and Morris's ability to make plays after contact.

I honestly thought Rambo started pretty good and I was impressed by his play but as the game went on he started missing tackles and taking poor angles.
He is a rookie safety so it might be like this the entire year. DB's take a long time to adjust.

Best thing that could of happen to us, was to lose like this tonight. We have a lot of desire and fire on this team. This will awaken that.

I feel bad for the Packers next week.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread

Bad...first half, run defense(but damn Mccoy is a beast), Rambo looked not just like a rookie but a liability, penalties, missed fg, Kerrigan concussion, the safety.

Good...Second half, Griff looked sharp and the shot of him on the bench in the midst of the comeback shaking his head just screamed "ok im ready now", Hank, Kai's kickoffs. edit..HELU

Bottom line is that when your star player isnt playing like one it is going to infect the entire team - the D gets tired and frustrated, the run game doesnt work rite, the wr's get dejected, but as soon as Griff found his rythym mid way through the third quarter it energized the entire team. I am still just as confident that this team is going places this year as I was at 7:14 pm tonite. I am completely chalking that up to a warm up game for Griff - I wanted them to put in KC and give us a chance to win, but in retrospect now, I am happy they let RG-3 work out the kinks because the next 15 games greatly outweigh week one.
