Huge deal for him though, what do you guys think, is he worth 6 yrs $26M, $6.5M up front? I'm not so sure I'd want us to top that.

We'd better get crackin' on Smoot!

Pierce hasn't officially signed the deal yet, so I'm still holding out some hope!

Too much IMO, I'd rather them use that kind of money to work on Smoot or Rolle

Hard to say if he's worth it because I don't know what the going rate is for young MLBs

Do we consider Kendrell Bell?

No if we dont get Pierce then we make that bastard Borrow work for the money that he is getting paid. One aging LB on our roster is enough.

F**k can we keep any one of our good players. If he doesnt give the Redskins a chance to counter, he is just fu**ing wrong after all of those " washington is where I want to be" speaches!

It was said that he was going to get monster money. This is a tough one to swallow. This will be the biggest mistake of the offseason.

isn't Pierce unrestricted? Do the Redskins even have the option to match?

Yeah he's unrestricted, but he said recently that he would give the Skins a chance to match any offers. We'll see if he holds true to that, or maybe more importantly, will the Skins consider matching if they are indeed given that chance?

Could be that Pierce has already given the Skins the opportunity to match, and they decided it didn't fit their salary cap projections for the next few years. I doubt Pierce would totally forsake Williams, not to mention Snyder's checkbook. Barrow's supposedly going to be ready to practice during the offseason camps, and they've re-signed their young backups, so maybe throwing a lot of money at Pierce doesn't make sense, given those factors.

Yeah upon further inspection of the article I noticed that AP didn't sign but an "agreement is in place"

But I think we've talked before about how Marshall is a natural MLB. So maybe if Barrow doesn't pan out then you go Washington, Marshall, Arrington
