Step right up! Chance to dunk Vinny Cerrato for charity!

Vinny Cerrato, the Bowie Baysox and a dunk tank - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post

Quote:
There is such a long, proud and innovative tradition of minor-league baseball teams coming up with amazingly creative promotions that I probably shouldn’t be surprised by anything any more. Still, this one got me.

On Aug. 5, the Bowie Baysox are having their annual Football Kickoff Party. This year’s main attraction will be a dunk booth. Featuring Vinny Cerrato.

“We anticipate there’ll be a lot of Redskins fans out here to watch that or participate in that,” assistant GM Phil Wrye told me.

I agree.

All you local guys out there. I'll send you some cash if you drop this idiot in a bucket of water.

That minor league team will have more money than most pro teams after that.

You've got to be kidding. Too good to be true.

I'm tempted to drive the 4-5 hours round trip to do this. It's the opportunity of a lifetime.

Re: Step right up! Chance to dunk Vinny Cerrato for charity!

I mean what kind of freaking clown is Vinny Cerrato to be participating in this crap? I'd love to dunk that bum, but really? It's still really hard to wrap my brain around the fact that this guy was the head of our FO for so long. And now he's doing dunk tanks at minor league baseball games. Oh man.

Re: Step right up! Chance to dunk Vinny Cerrato for charity!

NFL.com news: Cerrato: Redskins almost drafted LeSean McCoy

I just love how Vinny excuses his **** ups by throwing other people under the bus. "Oh...I didn't get this guy because a position coach didn't want him".

Just like when he tried to validate the Haynesworth signing by saying former Titan's coach Sherman Smith ok'd him.

Quote:
“I think we talked to a lot of people, plus Sherman Smith had been on the Tennessee staff for a number of years – he knew Albert very well,” Cerrato said.

On a follow up question about Smith’s involvement, Cerrato said: “We had first-hand information on Albert, [knew] everything about the guy because Sherman was there from the time Albert got there.”

Smith is now the running backs coach in Seattle and in a phone interview today said it’s “ridiculous” that his opinion carried that much weight.

“They wouldn’t give a guy a $100 million contract based only on what I said,” Smith said. “I told them exactly about our experience in Tennessee and said you guys make the decision.”

Smith said his advice in the staff meeting was “buyer beware,” because of Haynesworth’s problems in Tennessee.

...anyways...more good draft day stories by Vinny.

Draft day stories from Vinny Cerrato - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post

Should have dunked this guy in a vat of acid.
