Latest Moss Rumor

Moss to the Raiders for Phillip Buchanon and the 7th overall pick. I think the Vikes would probably end up taking Mike Williams here, not sure though. What do you all think?

I know this isn't a Skins article, but I thought it was worth discussing.

It's perfectly relevant givn the amount of conjecture over Moss.

I'd still want Williams, I think he'd be key to our offense being able to strech the field, Plaxico as a second option, not that far behind as a choice.

I dont know why they would trade moss to get williams. I mean, I know why they would, but wouldnt you rather have the proven commodity @ WR.

I could defintley see that trade going down, but I dont know if they would take Williams w/ that pick.

That's a tremendous trade for the Vikings. You improve your defense at a critical and needed position and you draft a super talented receiver to replace Moss, who is more trouble than he is worth - at least for any team that doesn't know how to handle him.

If Norv can handle Moss properly - that is, not have Moss rules for him and another set of rules for everyone else - then it could be a good move for Oakland too. The Vikings have appeased Moss to such a degree that he thinks he can behave in whatever rude or undignified way and not only get away with it, but be given special treatment. So its no surprise he acts the way he does.

If Moss can learn to accept that he is just a player like everyone else and doesn't deserve any special treatment, if he can channel his energies properly, then Oakland gets an electric player at wideout to generate huge interest in the team - which they need. Their home games don't sell out and are usually blacked out in the San Francisco Bay Area.

its an awesome trade for the vikes.
they get rid of a very talented and proven crybaby.
they get rid of a monster contract.

they get a solid cornerback.
and a good draftpick.

with the money they save from getting rid of moss, they could sign, buchanon, the draft pick and even a guy like plexico and still have some money left over.

atleast that trade is reasonable, unlike the bs that people were saying about our trade.

I cant beleive peopel woudl actually consider a first, second and lavar for moss, when you could keep those things, sign burress and have two great draft picks.

I've been hard on Moss, but today, I talked to a Vikings fan who told me about how he witnessed Moss visit homes with disabled kids and he had genuine smiles and treated the kids very decently, and made sure everyone got an autograph, etc. The Vikings fan said he likes Moss on a personal basis. I was glad to hear that about him, and I am sure that this the kind of person he is more than capable of being. However, if a team coddles him because of his talent and treats him as special, it not only creates resentment and destroys team spirit, it's giving Moss a big ego and inciting his least admirable traits to come to the surface.

i agree with you 100%, if the skins made that trade , that would , without a doubt, be the worst move they have ever made.

That trade, yes. I'd give them two first rounders, next year's 3rd, and LeMarr Marshall.

Moss is not as bad as people make him out to be. The NFL tends to vilanize anyone who has a personality. Yet a jenuine criminal like Ray Lewis is somehow a poster boy for the NFL. If you are going to criticise Moss at all it should be for his tendancy to take a play off here or there, but all this other stuff is just nonsense.

As for the trade, I think the Raiders are obviously a great place for him to end up since they tend to accept flamboint players out there more than most NFL cities do. I think the trade was fair also. A starting player and a high draft pick is about his worth. Much more in line with that rediculous Redskins rumor.

Moss playing for Norv Turner equals one thing...100% disaster in every way. Norv is about the nicest guy I have ever met(I coached baseball in his son's baseball league 5 or 6 years ago and he was a great guy and did a lot for the league when he didn't have to. He also came to all of his kids games) but he couldn't even manage a team with the likes of Darrell Green and Brian Mitchell. We're talkign about a team full of consumate professionals and all we ever heard about was how nobdy respected him and how he had lost control. Now they're going to trade for Moss....Jeez Al Davis is stupid...no wonder they haven't done s*&% in years.

I agree that Randy Moss and Norv Turner is a marriage made in Hell. Norv is not a disciplinarian and never will be. Then again, who's to say that Al Davis is going to keep Norv around. It's not like Davis is any stranger to "changing coaches".

Phillip Buchanon is no treat either. He is unhappy with his contract and wants it re-done. Davis said no way so Buchanon said he wants out of Oakland and threatened not to participate in the off-season "voluntary" programs. Buchanon gets beat deep and that is what you do not want your CBs to do. Even with a perfect attitude, I'd look around to see if there were other options before bringing him on; with his braggadocio and inflated view of his on-field productivity, I'd forget to return any calls from him or his agent.

I agree.....I heard Norv couldn't control the players in the meetings, cell phones going off, jewelry and real estate salesman giving the speals....and Norv trying to have a meeting........I Moss needs a disciplinarian.that would challenge him and make him play to his abilities on each and every play......like Bill Parcells...............
