Re: Skins v Rams pregame
I think the rams are one of or if not the worst team in football right now, they have no offense at all and the defense isn't any good either.. If the skins are really a contender this season we should win this game by 10 points. I think we bounce back w a good win Sunday and honestly I can't wait to get this taste gone

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
Listed as probable last time I checked.
One things for sure. We have to run the freaking ball ourselves. The problem against Dallas was the lack of balance. I will admit though his athleticism and arm strength are getting more and more appealing as the weeks go on. Still it's to early to pull the plug on Rex. We knew going in that he was going to have good days and bad.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
still hard to let go of the Dallas game, but if we are who we want to think we are, we will come out and win this game. Convincingly. I know we may not get the RZ production, but it ought to be a game where from start to end the outcome is never in doubt. That said, the Skins haven't had a game like that for a while, so I expect somehow we will keep the Rams in it.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
I expect us to struggle this game, because thats been the nature of this team over the last several years after a tough loss. This game will let us know how much we have grown mentally. Do we forget a tough Dallas loss and play better or do we play down to a bad Rams team talent level. A win at St. Louis might be the biggest win of the season in terms of team growth.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
Short week, on the road, desperate opponent, questionable QB play, an OC who continues to put a marginal QB in difficult situations, OC who doesn't like to use the run.....this story isn't starting well.

wouldn't surprise me if we lost this game. the oddsmakers have it as a pick. that says something.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
I think the Dallas game and the early success may have gotten into the head of the players. It is time for them to get over this early success and the loss, and move on with the season. It is important to get our ground game going, otherwise we are going to see the same production out of our offense. I also would like to see a bit of variety in the offensive and defensive playcalling. I think this last game we saw the same plays too often (Haslett's all out blitz, KS' FB run). Also, Rex needs to put this game behind him and trust the o-line a bit more. I know the Rams d-line is not the same as Dallas, but I'm still convinced that Rex underestimated the protection he had early in the game.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
The Rams have beat us two years in a row. Yes their defense sucks but their front 4 dominated our o-line last year. I expect this game to go right down to the wire cause we're not a contending team. We simply can't do what Baltimore did to this team last week.

The Rams defense has been super disappointing. I say disappointing instead of bad because sometimes an offense like the Redskins will roll into town and they'll (Rams defense) go back to looking like the team they expected to be at the beginning of the season. So we have to be super-careful not to shoot ourselves in the foot this week. Baltimore went about 3.5 quarters without a major offensive blown assignment. We'll have to do something similar this week. This game is a 50-50 coin flip. The Rams are talented enough to blow us out, but if they aren't able to fix their weaknesses from last week, we'll be able to blow them out.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
This team has nothing to prove to me. They play hard. They play together.
Once again, I'll beat that poor dead horse: we are rebuilding. The score of this or any other particular game this year is less important to me than the effort of the players and the continuous improvement of the team. With effort and improvement, we'll win our fair share of games, which I think is about 8 given the talent level of this team. I have no idea which teams we'll beat to get to 8 wins but beating the Rams this week would be sweet. |

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
Although the opponent isn't the best, we are recovering from a tough Dallas loss. The players have been saying there is something different about this locker room than the ones in the past. Well here is the first test, can you rebound after losing a game you pretty much threw away? Players need to learn from their mistakes and move on to this game. If they can, they should easily beat the Rams.
