Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

Let's not waste any time here

Rex Grossman I don't think Beck would be any better but Grossman came out flat and he has to be more aware of the rush and protect the ball.

Kyle Shanahan I'm a big fan, but his playcalling was extremely suspect today. He completely abandoned the run, especially after Hightower had such a nice drive culminating in a TD. It's one thing to be aggressive, but running actually helps you be aggressive. And why make a substitution with no timeouts left in the first half and under a minute to go. We had the momentum going and killed it.

DeAngelo Hall Sure, you can blame Haslett for the all out blitz on 3 and 21 but if you're going to talk the talk like Hall does you better be able to back it up and give your DC confidence that you can handle a 1-1 assignment

Jammal Brown After TW basically handled Ware all night, Brown basically escorted him into the Redskins backfield

People Who Keep Blaming The Media **** all of you

We blew a huge chance tonight to go 3-0 and 2-0 in the division. We're 2-1 which is not 0-3 as some may be thinking after tonight but we can't let repeated chances pass us by as they did tonight.

This is why I hate the trash talking before a game, both by people on here and the players
I told my buds so long as Dallas has that defense they will be in the game and they would sack grossman and get a big play out of it

I would add that our field goal unit has to share much of the blame; we've had problems blocking and setting up short yardage field goals this year, and tonight it was a major factor in losing the game.

Rex seems to have an underdeveloped internal clock and an underdeveloped sixth sense for dangerous things lurking behind him. I'd expect that from a rookie, but not a vet.

Don't forget underdeveloped arm.

Maybe that has something to do with riding the bench from 07-late 2010. Hard to develop an internal play clock that tells you when to get rid of the ball if you never suit up and play.

As far as Grossman goes, nothing he did tonight suprised me. We know what we're getting with him. Sure he could be having a "career rebirth", but I don't believe that. He's still making bad throws resulting in picks and still coughing up the ball when getting sacked. I maintain he is just a one year stopgap.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

No delaying it this time huh?

Grossman: He had an average game, but honestly he needs to have better pocket awareness. Every time he gets sacked I get scared that the ball is coming out, because he fumbles a lot.

Playcalling: Minor things here and there. Going fullback dive on two consecutive third and ones = bad idea. Abandoning the run (even though it wasn't working) is not smart. On defense the big one is the all out blitz on third down that left Dez Bryant one on one with D.Hall. Even I know that's a battle we don't win.

Offensive line: not just Jammal Brown getting manhandled by D.Ware, the run blocking was not there for the 2nd time in 3 games. Is it a lack of talent? Because the coaching scheme should be effective. It makes it easier to abandon the run when you're not effective running the ball.

People who keep blaming the media: I don't think I noticed this as much as SS did, but one question: Did the media suit up and play the game? No? Are you sure?

For me, O-line is at the top of my sh*t list for this game. They absolutely couldn't open up any holes -- way too many 1, 2, 3 yard gains. When you're up 16-12 with 5 minutes to play, you HAVE to grind out a drive. I like Kyle's aggressive playcalling, but when the running lanes aren't there, he obviously knew he had to get the yardage somehow.

He should have made more of a commitment to running the ball, but how can he when the guys up front just aren't making the plays?

Those stretch runs early opened up the middle of the field for the Skins to attack but the first shot they took Grossy through that duck to Lee

F Jim Hasslett and Deangelo Hall. F our offense for settling for field goals. And F the whole team for losing a winnable game.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

Kyle Shanny- deserves this loss. Last year his playcalling was suspect, it reared its head again tonite. After the touchdown, Kyle playcalling lost us the game by putting the ball in Rex's hand.

Sav Rocca- Thanks for fumbling 3 points. This isnt on Gano, but like I said last week, we average 1 huge Special teams mistake a game. When is this sh*t gonna end? Did you see the rookie Kicker across the field have a f*cking issue?

Rex- your a back up QB plain and simple, interception at the beginning of the game was just another poor decision.

Haslett- horrible playcall that effectively ended the game

Also want to call out red zone offense as well. Even though the Cowboys won the game exclusively by field goals, I still maintain you cannot consistently win games by settling for field goals. Good teams find ways to score touchdowns. We did that in week 1 but this is now two consecutive weeks our red zone offense has not done the job.

Hello we did score 1 more TD than the cowgirls. The difference was we blew a fg attempt with the fumbled hold.

That's true. Had that FG attempt not been botched, the 'skins could have won by 1. Funny thing though, I don't hear a lot of bragging coming from the Cowboys fans here at work. I think they know this game was gift wrapped.

I think the way both teams played, there wasn't much to brag about.

Doesn't matter how they won, they won..."gift wrap"or not".There are plenty of good teams out there but there is always an eliment of luck in anything.I'd rather be lucky then good any day!
