Madden 2012

On August 30th Madden 12 will be released so I wanted to see what others thoughts were on it.

For us Skins fans its always a little disapointing as far as ratings. It seems like it doesn't matter what FA we get or who it is because if your a Skin.. your ratings a little lower.
Like Laron Landry, can anybody believe he was only an 84 along with Santana to start the season last year?
Here's something else to watch for...
OJ Atogwe finished the season a 93 overall FS. With us hell be an 89... unless they prove me wrong. They need to prove me wrong and give at least the little proven talent we have a good rating.
Atogwe 91
Landry 91
Fletcher 90
Orakpo 89
D Hall 89
Santana Moss 87-88... they show Santana no respect
Cooley 86 and NOTHING LOWER. Guy used to be a 90, if your a Skin and you get hurt u drop fiercly.
Last year just an 85 for Cooley.

Let's see what happens this year.
Anyhow I preordered the Hall Of Fame edition so ill be playing with Jerry Rice, Marshall Faulk, Deion, and many more on my ultimate team so no matter what it'll b fun.

I also hold many online fantasy drafts so let me know who plays well get a warpath leage goin.

Re: Madden 2012

I don't play online much so I change the stats the way that I see fit. 99's across the board.

JK, but I do improve upon the stats because nobody wants to suck. For those who think what I do isn't "realistic" I say this "it's a video game you freakin tool, it's not realistic to begin with".

Re: Madden 2012

Which system Skins4L?

I'll be down for an online league on the 360 assuming Madden 12 doesn't suck. I wasn't a big fan of '11.

Re: Madden 2012

I am totally not getting this version. I don't have the time for it (newborn in the house) and every year it is the same old same old.

Sounds like they improved the Franchise part of the game -- which is what I love.

Re: Madden 2012

I'll third that. I'm really excited to see all the franchise changes, but I will admit I'm disappointed they couldn't implement the rookie cap in this year's mode. There are ways around it but I'd rather just sign my rookies upfront instead of having to dump them in free agency and then resign them to a cap friendly deal. I'll live with it though, mainly because I think all the other changes they made to franchise mode are going to make it a lot better than it was in the past.

Re: Madden 2012

I say it every year but i hope this year they have fixed the mandatory retirement ages for players. It makes me mad to see a guy who is in good health and playing well retire at 35 or 36 when in real life you have 40+ year old kickers, Brett Favre, Joey Galloway types who play into their 40's.

Once even Santana Moss in one of my other madden games retired at like 32. Makes no sense.

They did have the .99 cent add on from the ps or xbox store which was called "one more year". And u can literally slap it on the same player every year and keep them playing. I'm a hardcore player so I bought all 3 good ones, the one more year, the team ratings booster for your franchise, and the star player which works on a single players ratings.

Re: Madden 2012

I've seen guys retire at all different ages in the game. Reality is once players get into their 30s in real life they're on borrowed time.

Exactly that is the norm and part of the fun of the game is grooming that next guy to take over for your retired vet.

I "retired" last year. First straw was the HORID online play. Kids going for it on fourth down all the time, rolling out every play, etc. Now they have normal kickoff onsides? Give me a break.

Final straw came when as a joke and boredom I created a Super Linebacker with 99 everything to see how many stats I could rack up in be a pro mode (ironic I know after complaining about realism but this is offline so it hurts no one). Anyway long story short I kept on trying to rack up sacks when I realized that I wasn't getting to the QB. Turned out on virtually every difficulty level the computer has a sixth sense that encourages him to get rid of the ball the second someone gets remotely near him (even from the blind side). Except of course during the 2 minute drill when they become a statue. Other people confirmed this same problem when I did a search online.

Brought me back to the PS2 days where completing a deep post on any level above rookie was illegal.

It was then that I realized I couldn't stand Madden anymore and was basically throwing away $60 for a 3 week rental since Favre was on the cover in a Packers jersey.

Re: Madden 2012

I just hope it's as fun as NCAA 12 is. If you're jonesing for a good football game to tide you over until Madden drops, pick it up.
