Re: AWESOME Redskins corn maze at Summers Farm in Frederick, MD
Saw this on twitter the other night. Seriously I'd love to know how they do these things from down on the ground. I mean it's literally just about perfect.

Okay, obviously the overhead pic is the most important one to take. However I've seen enough overhead shots. Now I want to see what it looks like at ground level.

I'd imagine they plot it out the design and then cut. They don't get into much on the website but The MAiZE is who did it

Yeah, that would make sense. My uncle owns a farm, but still, it must be hard to plant it and have it come out perfectly.

so I imagine it goes something like this.. since it's likely seeded by machine they plant a full field and already have stakes and ropes plotted out shortly after planting the field to cut along.. somewhere between the point of the corn starting to come up till it's too high to see over on the cutting device they cut along/in between the ropes.. low-tech I guess they could either just measure everything out and make sure they do it correctly.. a lil higher tech they could actually survey the land and along with the CAD-plot get precise gps locations for each stake location now the plotting itself interests me.. they can probably CAD a design, but you still have to get your angles/measurements, etc correct.. they can do it for you (they call it a cutting crew.. I, I just died on your farm tonight, nevermind me) or they can send you the instructions for it
