Rule of 26-27-60 predicts QB success
I was having lunch with the owner of my company today, and we were discussing how excited we are about the upcoming football season (he's from Houston and a big Texans fan). He mentioned this article to me, so I found it when I got home.
I thought this was a solid read about a pretty accurate predictor of QB success transitioning from college to the pros. There are rare exceptions to the rule, and our QB McNabb is one of them. Rule of 26-27-60 predicts NFL quarterback success, failure - John P. Lopez - SI.com

Re: Rule of 26-27-60 predicts QB success
I was all ready to make the point that Colt Brennan satisfies all three criteria, but then found that he scored a 24 on his Wonderlic.
The Cult of Colt's hopes are dashed!

Re: Rule of 26-27-60 predicts QB success
Maybe we should make a trade for Ryan Fitzpatrick? We could throw in Rex Grossman and Donovan McNabb for him; but wait, Rex was a 29-31-62, oh decisions, decisions.

Interesting read but certainly not too surprising.

Guess it explains what happened with Patrick Ramsey:
wonderlic - 32 starts - 32 completion % - 58 So close Patrick, so close! |
