F. . . The NFL draft.

Seriously. This schedule is ridiculous. Some of us love being glued to the TV to watch the draft all weekend. So basically, since I work evenings, I have to miss the first 3 rounds of the draft because they move it to prime time.

The NFL draft may be my favorite football time during the year. I find it fascinating and I hang on every pick. Now the douchebags in the NFL offices want to take that from me.

For those of you with no idea what Im talking about:

The NFL draft will kick off in prime time for the first time in 2010, it was announced Thursday. The first round of the 2010 NFL Draft will start on Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the second and third rounds on Friday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by Rounds 4-7 on Saturday, April 24 at 10 a.m. ET.

NFL draft's first round moves to Thursday night for 2010

Sucks for you guys that work at night, but I love the fact it's being moved to prime time.

Being retired it really does not matter to me, but I do sympathize with those that the new format will inconvenience. Three days is a long time to cover seven rounds.

that it is, they really need to change the time between picks especially for the first two round i think the later rounds should be longer and the first two should be shorter

Re: F. . . The NFL draft.

it's absolutly retarded they moved it whats wrong with having some beers with some buddies on a saturday afternoon watchin the draft, and the fact the split it up into different days (1st 2nd 3rd) come on give me a break, it just doesn't make sense i feel if anything they might lose viewers obviously they are losing one

Re: F. . . The NFL draft.

Over the past few years I have found myself watching the draft less and less, mainly because on a Saturday afternoon I can find a million other things to do vs. watching TV. However on a Thurs. or Fri night, that's prime TV time. I'll watch even more with this new setup.

Exactly, the nfl & espn know the ratings are high enough that it can compete on prime time tv, and generate more viewers than on a saturday for reasons which you note above.

Thank the NFL for this move

SmootSmack -- Missed your posting earlier. What prompted the thread was TMC and myself deciding we should get together and watch the draft on Saturday...

You were watching less because we had no picks.

Re: F. . . The NFL draft.

Matty, do you really not get together with friends and family. Have some beers, make some wings, and love to watch it all day? Even Friday night, on prime time, I could understand.

What about the west coast. Starts at 4:30? That's pretty damn early. I'm really going to miss draft parties and speculating, etc.

Back in college sure I did, but these days the draft simply isn't the big deal it used to be with my friends. Everyone has families and a Saturday afternoon is valuable family time.

I honestly don't remember the last time I sat down and watched any significant portion of the draft. Not when I can get constant updates on my phone and texts from friends as to what is going on. And then at the end of the day I just log on to ESPN and catch up from there.

I have no problem with it on prime time but I'm so used to it being on Sat. and Sun. that it goes against everything. Why the hell ruin a good thing?
