Chiefs Release L. Johnson
With L. Johnson and Edge being available, I don't see any team trading with us for Portis (not that it was realistic, but still). I wonder if the Browns will pick up L. Johnson.

The guy is a cancer, he might as well retire.

Re: Chiefs Release L. Johnson
Larry Johnson = Shaun Alexander
Clinton Portis = Shaun Alexander Johnson and Portis have the old running back syndrome aka the Shaun Alexander complex. The use to be premier running backs but cease to run hard. They choose to fall down on contact or perceived contact or run out of bounds.

Alexander (TTB) is, in my oppinion, more like Cartwright in the sense that both will dance in the back field waiting for a hole that a mack truck could drive through opens up then they try to hit the hole. Otherwise they run more East/West and losing yrds here and there doing so. but...lately Portis has been doing the same thing. Not sure if this has anything to do with him losing weight over the summer to try and become a speedier/shiftier RB or what. Portis used to be a hard hitting run over you type of RB but since last yr and into this yr he seems to get stopped at the goal line, not hitting the holes or getting washed up in them, and slower. I hate to say it cause I'm not a fan favorite of Betts or Cartwright but when both were put in the game together they seemed to get more yrds vs. Portis and Sellers. |

they had turned a scrub running back into a record breaker and a perennial all pro shaun alexander wasnt a good running back but he was getting a lot of credit for what steve hutchinson and mack strong were actually doing clinton portis and jarry johnson get their numbers behind pretty bad lines and not one great standout.....thats not even close to the right comparison |

Good move for KC. F him, dont want to see that cancer near Fed Ex. In a locker room that is already weak with leadership, adding him would be a huge mistake.

Re: Chiefs Release L. Johnson
Can you tell me what part of my initial post said anything about him coming to Fed Ex?

Re: Chiefs Release L. Johnson
He'll probably clear waivers first because he's owed $2.1 million in base and I think like $500k in bonuses, so no one's going to sign him right away.

Re: Chiefs Release L. Johnson
Not too surprised. He only has himself to blame with his attitude problems. But that tweet he sent out was funny. Not the making fun of gays, but what he said about Haley. I never knew the guy NEVER play any football in his entire life. That's pretty pathetic that he's got an NFL job and never ever played any football on any level.

Re: Chiefs Release L. Johnson
Not that I'm excusing or justifying Johnson, but I believe he did want out of KC when the new regime took over in KC. I still don't know why teams are bent on keeping players that don't want to play for their team. I think a 7th rounder for him would have been better than whatever cap hit they are going to take with this cut.
