Non-Obvious Fantasy Starters
Time for a fantasy football forum - who do you think are NON-OBVIOUS starters this week?
Here are a few that I think might do well this week: QB: Chris Simms - good pedigry, Saints suck RB: Lee Suggs - healthy and in charge WR: Marcus Robinson - Coming off bye week, Moss takes most of the defenders TE: Ben Troupe - All other TE options are injured, big potential K: Nick Kaeding - college stud, consistent in NFL DEF: Arizona - SF sucks, much improved DEF |

Of these players listed... I would only start Suggs, unless I had no other choice.

The only thing that scares me about Suggs is Davis doesn't seem committed to sticking with one RB. He even said this week that he didn't mean to leave Green out of the gameplan last week and he wants to give him more work this week.

I think Davis realizes that Suggs is the talent... but Davis needs to keep Green in the game because of his shaky emotional/personal history. Suggs will get the bulk of the work though.

i think since all the problems with green last year, davis started to favor suggs so he should get a good amount of touches

Davis doesn't have a great track record at handling RB's, just ask Portis when they were both at Miami.

I don't think they're considering trading him.

i'm starting E smith over jamal (due to the clubs they're playing... if i had done so last week, i'd have been better off), and i'm starting ari D over tennesse, which has burned me every week... (ari has more fantasy points than baltimore at this point i believe)...
kickers don't matter unless you're doing salary cap... every week there's plenty capable ones free... unless you have more than 16 teams... simms and suggs are good dark horses for this week... TEs are just random chance (who gets the TD this week) unless you got gonzo or EJ... marcus R is alright, but moss is still the TD machine for the vikes... i'd pick R caldwell or either SF starting WR over him though... or any NE WR... (out of three primary WR in NE, only D branch was drafted with any regularity... D patten and D givens were great FA pickups, especially since branch got hurt...) |

I know that Jamal Lewis is playing a pimped-out defense, but he is so much better than Emmitt. Also, he should be playing much more focused now that he knows he isn't going to jail for 10 years. With the NFL, you have to factor in the "mental state due to threat of jail" factor. |
