Re: Colt Brennan goes on IR

When I saw Colt go out of the game I thought something that like would happen so they could keep both Colt and Chase.

The only person it would matter to is Colt and if he doesn't mind not having any chance to play during the season I guess I see no problem with him doing it or agreeing to do it.

Re: Colt Brennan goes on IR

nothing is official yet.

Colt Brennan may not be on the active roster this year. And that he may not be cut, either.

Still...SFRedskin posted this last night: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another possibility tomorrow could be to stash Colt in IR for the season and save him for next year and make Daniel our #3 this year.

Dude, you are a swami!

Thank you! It only makes sense to do this, it's actually a blessing because now you have Collins play out his contract, we don't know what Campbell's year will be like. Next year you have 2 young QB's in Colt and Daniel one with 3 years under his belt the other with one. You say goodbye to Collins and have 3 good QB's in the 1,2,3 spots. Hopefully Campbell will have a great year.

Re: Colt Brennan goes on IR

Just FYI...

Chase Daniel is no lock to be a Redskin...

The team is cutting him & keeping only 2 QBs on the 53 man roster.

If he clears waivers, then practice squad... but someone may just take a flier on him...

Brennan to IR, Daniel Cut

this may be a blessing in disguise!
Hopefully colt won't get upset & think that he should be able to come back mid season

Re: Colt Brennan goes on IR

I didn't think Colt was as injured as he was.

I don't like the sound of the recurring hip injury.

Re: Colt Brennan goes on IR

Unfortunatly one problem solved. I guess this gives Colt a yr to fix whatever problems he's having like Kelly did. Now for the other 20 something people we have to release. I'm supprised they havn't released the guys that just out right sucked already but I guess they are wantinig to cut them all at once in hopes the ones they want to keep get over looked.

Re: Colt Brennan goes on IR

This has to be the team stashing him away, which I am fine with. Kelly went through all last year without going on, because the team wanted to try to use him. They know Brennan is a project/would not play so why not take the opportunity to keep him safe.

This does mean he can't practice with the team, but I guess he gets paid, so it's gotta be a mixed blessing for him.

And I agree, this sets up for quite the showdown for #2 next year, assuming JZ/JC/VC step it up this year and are still here next training camp.

Re: Colt Brennan goes on IR

This is the best worst news a Colt fan can hear. We know he won't be cut now, and we can keep another young flashy rookie in chase. Maybe next year we can keep both Colt and Chase, probably campbell (assuming he does good enough to earn a contract extension) and we can say good bye to collins. At least Colt didn't get cut, and picked up by another team, and somehow become that teams QB by default sometime during the season, play us and beat us, believe me I could see one happening, just like how I could see St. Louis and Cincinnati beating us last year. Just thank god colts with US!

Your living in a dream world, Colt Brennan has a LONG way to go in being a starting quarterback in this league. And this does nothing but set him back(no practice), Daniel will now have the "inside track" come next year.
