Re: Smoots pro-bowling aspirations
When I saw this thread I thought it meant Pro Bowl aspirations. That would have been a lot better.

Re: Smoots pro-bowling aspirations
If he plays on TV, I'll watch. Anything Smoot does is hilarious. Except cover receivers. Well....sometimes that's kinda funny too. In a sad way.

Re: Smoots pro-bowling aspirations
That's hilarious that the PBA actually offered him entry into an event.
"The PBA will give Fred Smoot entry into a PBA event and he can see where he stacks up against the best bowlers in the world. We think he might be in for a rude awakening because our pros are to bowling pins what he is to wide receivers" Apparently the folks over at the PBA don't watch too much Redskins football. If their pros are to bowling pins what Smoot is to receivers these days, then those guys must be rolling a lot of gutter balls.

Re: Smoots pro-bowling aspirations
If Smoot bowled plus 210, like I think I saw from that article, then he could definitely beat somebody. Pro-bowlers aren't some type of elite talented individuals and bowling isn't an especially talented sport. A lot of them average just above 200. It'd be a whole different story sticking one of the guys below on the field to cover TO or even Kevin Curtis.

Re: Smoots pro-bowling aspirations
Smoot does get beat here and there but he usually grabs the ball when it is near him. I think a lot of teams would be pretty happy with him as a #3 corner. It isn't like he gets much help in our scheme. We pretty much leave the corners on an island and they have had to cover without a pass rush up front.
Hopefully, the pass rush from the line will allow the corners to be more aggressive and catch more ints. We are going to need some short fields if we are going to make the playoffs out of our division. |
