2009 Draft Slot & Schedule Secured

Ok... so here it is....

* We will be selecting 14th overall in the 1st round.

* We will only have 1st, 3rd, 5th, & 6th round picks.

* Here's our scheduled opponents:

Home: Dallas, Philadelphia, NYG, Saints, Buccaneers, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams

Away: Dallas, Philadelphia, NYG, Falcons, Panthers, Raiders, Chargers, Lions

I hope we don't screw up with that 14th pick. We should be able to get a nice player at 14th. I wonder if we can trade someone for some later round picks.

I personally think they'd be best off trading back for sure...

you just NEVER know with the 1st round picks.. boom or bust...

that's why the more picks the better...

If they get a "stud" OT or DT... it'll all be on him (the pressure to be an impact) because we won't pick again til the 3rd round.

So hopefully trade it for a low 1st round and a 3rd or 4th round pick? or a 2nd and 4th? I guess it'd depend on the players available.

I REALLY do think that'd be the best strategy as good O-Linemen are awlays still available in the 3rd/4th rounds

OH MAN, that's what I thought last year when we ended up with a couple 2nd rounders....then they spent them on redundant WR and TEs that have shown zero....how the hell do you go 0-3 with 2nd rounders....
Sorry for venting....but any talk of our draft picks right now leaves me uninspired to say the least....how hard is it to draft Dlinemen? LBs? Olinemen worth a crap?

Will our FO ever learn or do we have to hope for a complete collapse so we can hope for Parcells to come in for 1 year and fix it?

Everyone said....awesome...10 picks...they finally get it....then they screw em all up but get lucky with Horton as a 4th safety....they turn around and trade a 2nd and 6th away for a very old Jason Taylor....I was even ok with it at the time...but boy....the FO moves last season sure look crappy now.
I hold very little hope for offseason moves this year...I completely expect the Skins to do something splashy to screw us for years to come.

Trade the first one away for a pick in the second and in the 3rd.

Schedule looks pretty good, not thrilled about having to go out west twice but what can ya do?!

I would not trade #14 overall for just a 2nd and a 3rd. I would accept no less than two 2nd rounders in 2009. Philly and New England are notorious for trading out of the first round for a 2nd PLUS a 1st in the following year's draft. Philly did that again last year, giving them two 1st rounders for 2009.

Re: FYI for 2009.. Draft & Schedule

id like to actually keep this pick and use it for a top tier talent. the "experts" seem to think there are 3 stud OTs this year and maybe at 14 one of them might still be around. if not O line maybe a play-making d lineman.

hurts not having that 2nd rounder thoo. either way we should only get better after the draft.

so is this draft considered deep in any particular position? seems like there is a good 10-15 solid O lineman this year but i dont follow college ball as much.

go skins!!

Eugene Monroe would be a good pick for us. I think he's projected top 10 but you never know how the draft will go.

Re: FYI for 2009.. Draft & Schedule

Trade it along with Betts and Randle El, stock up on picks spend them on both lines and a backup RB...or pick at 14, maybe get a keeper down the line in the draft and take your chances.
