Not sure how react with only one starter but loosing does not help with these picks. We hit our loosing skid at about the time that the other 2/3 rds had to cast their votes. I'm just sorry Fletcher did not get in.

The rationality of players and coaches casting their votes outweighed the ridiculous homerism of tens of thousands of Redskins fans filling out ballot after ballot with a Redskin starting at every single position.

However- CP, Samuels, Cooley, and FINALLY Sellers are all definitely deserving, and Fletch should no question be more than a 2nd alternate.

Re: 2009 Pro Bowl

Can't believe Fletcher didn't make it. Landry probably should have gotten a closer look but he came on to late in the season. Either way not to crazy at the structure in which only 3 Safties get selected. Oh well at least I can see that there were less players selected this year solely on name alone. Probably one of the better things about Mike Vick going to prison.

Re: 2009 Pro Bowl

Becuase I know you guys really care.

The team that was almost completely shut out of the Pro Bowl last year will be sending six players to Hawaii in February, 2009. QB Eli Manning, C Shaun O’Hara, G Chris Snee, DE Justin Tuck, K John Carney and P Jeff Feagles will all be on the NFC Pro Bowl squad when the team is officially announced later today. For those interested in such things:

First Alternates
Chase Blackburn - special teamer
Kevin Boss ????
Madison Hedgecock
Antonio Pierce

Second Alternate
Fred Robbins

Third Alternate
David Diehl
Brandon Jacobs

I think Antonio Pierce is one of the most overrated defensive players in the NFL.

He didn't look overrated keeping us out of the endzone.

Um, anyone can keep us out of the end zone. Pierce gets beat routinely.

Re: 2009 Pro Bowl

I was wondering how the NFL was going to fix the problem with Redskins fans voting in only Redskins. According to reports, with only a month to go in voting the Redskins had between 12 & 16 players heading to the Pro Bowl. Player and coaching votes must have been given heavy consideration!

Re: 2009 Pro Bowl

This confirms for how dumb the Pro Bowl selection process is. No Fletcher, but 4 guys on our lackluster offense? Heck, it's our D that has kept is alive this season. London Fletcher is having an incredible season, and without his leadership, I cannot imagine what would be happening with this defense. This is really a shame.

Re: 2009 Pro Bowl

Nice to see Sellers get recognized. Congrats to Cooley, Samuels, and Portis too.

No such luck for Fletcher. It's a shame he'll probably retire with no Pro Bowl appearances.
