The pick for Taylor?

Was it defiantely a second round pick? Cause it'd be great if it was conditional. He hasn't played all that great.

Also, with James doing almost nothing before being cut does Minnesota still get the seventh round pick?

Re: The pick for Taylor?

They gave up a seventh round pick for James if he made the roster, which he did.

So, counting Jason Taylor's trade, that's THREE DRAFT PICKS for ONE SACK.

Brilliant, Vinny. Just brilliant.

No, that's not what this is about. We needed bodies if nothing else. I was just hoping it might drop down to a third or fourth for Taylor.

You have to give Dan and Vinny credit for being consistant ,,, 2 picks for Loyd , 2 for duckett , 4 for JC , 3 for Rocky , 2 for M. white , 2 for Kendall and 2 for L. Coles .

We only gave up one pick for Kendall. Doesn't change the fact that Vinny and Dan are complete idiots.

Taylor and James are both good players we should be blaming Blanche and the D line coach for not using them right. Not Vinny for taking a chance trying to help us win.

Yup, at the time I thought we got a great player and at a bad price. Now I think we got a washed up and one-dimensional player at an absolutely awful price. We got hosed.

I would say that Bill Parcells knows a little more about selecting personnel to build a winner than Vinny. The fact that he made it no secret that he wanted rid of JT should have been a red flag for all takers. The Tuna schooled Cerrato on this one.

Re: The pick for Taylor?

Taylor in hindsight was a bad move, at the time I admit I liked it though.

Now I'm wondering what that pick could have been. A starter along one of the lines would have been real nice.

How many picks are we down in this draft now?

1st - Still hold
2nd - Traded to Mia for Jason Taylor
3rd - Still hold
4th - Traded to NYJ for Pete Kendall
5th - Still hold
6th - Still hold
7th - Traded to Min for Erasmus James

So that would make 4 of 7 picks that the Skins still have as of today.

Re: The pick for Taylor?

Of course, if you want to feel mildly better about the Taylor trade, we can recall that Dallas traded a 1st, 3rd, and 6th for Roy Williams (plus a monster contract). And he may have contributed less in Dallas than Taylor has in Washington (if that is possible). OK, it isn't possible, but 14 catches, 182 yards, 1 td in eight games still borders on useless.

That trade for Williams was laughable. He's not even one of the better WRs in the league. They paid a huge price and it's going to hurt them down the road.

They did get hosed on that one, but at least Williams is still pretty young and seems to want to play and have a successful career, whereas Taylor is old and wants a nice segway into the studio.

I'm not all that upset about throwing away our draft picks on veterans though because God knows we'd have just ended up taking a bunch of crappy rookies anyways (only kind of kidding).
