$150G From GOP For Fashions For Palins?

(CBS) Since she's been on the campaign trail, Sarah Palin has received a lot of attention over her wardrobe, her hair, even her glasses.

Now, Politico.com is reporting the Republican National Committee has spent more than $150,000 on clothes and accessories for Palin and her family.

She's a celebrity. She can't be wearing TJ Max shoes and Target Suits. Even Joe the Plumber can understand that can't he?

150K is alot but I am sure the Dems are spending a lot on useless things as well. Also being a women running for office, makes you a target and people jump on things really quickly. Therefore spending on clothes should be higher for women seeking office.

Politico told CBS News it hasn't been able to identify any similar expenditures on the Democratic side.

I agree it is a bit outlandish, but I don't know if Clinton was on the ticket, the Dems would not be spending as much.

Also I never said Dems would be spending as much on clothing, but on other pointless things as well.

Heck no I went right to the Obama web site for one. These are list of pork he has stuck into bills and he is proud of asking congress for over 900 million for his pet projects.Obama Announces FY08 Federal Funding Requests | U.S. Senator Barack Obama

Or maybe you could look at fact check to read about his 3 million for an overhead projector. FactCheck.org: Did Obama request a $3 million 'overhead projector,' as McCain claimed?

Funny how they point out 150g that was spent with non taxpayer money but don't have a problem with all the pork Obama has asked for. A million dollars for every working day he has been in office.

I'd argue that for a 150k that they at least they got there moneys worth. I'm pretty sure Sarah Palin looks great without all the extreme makeover stuff, actually now that I think about it I'd say they spent way to much. She looked great before the makeover, maybe the family needed some help in terms of getting an even better wardrobe but looking at pictures of Palin as governor I'd say she was already plenty attractive.

The one for the building was a seperate bill which was not stuck in on the back pages of another bill. So congree has to vote on that straight up and I'm not sure if thats really considered pork spending. The other is for a buffer zone around a Air Base and I just don't know if thats considered port in a defense spending bill. We have that issue here in our area because the navy jets practice right over peoples homes. So from my perspective its a defense issue.

Call it what you will, sounds like earmarks to me.
