Tell me if this makes any sense...
This is from the Washington Post:
"The 'Dirtbags' are in flux after right tackle Jon Jansen's season ended because of a ruptured right Achilles' tendon. The Redskins are expected today to sign 6-foot-3, 310-pound tackle Marcus Spriggs as a reserve, according to sources familiar with the situation, and release Brandon Winey, the third-string left tackle." So let me get this straight, they want to sign this guy Spriggs, but consequently have to let somebody go. Ergo, they make Brandon Winey, a tackle who actually played and filled in well last year, walk the plank -- and they keep Ade Jimoh who continues to get burned on play after play. Does that make any sense to you guys? Can you think of any other player who could have been released besides Brandon Winey? |

I guess they just wanted to have a certain number of people at each position. If Wineys been hurt then I guess he hasnt had anymore time then Spriggs to practice in the new system. If Bugel wants Winey gone then I guess ill trust him

I thought Winey was solid but hey what do I know, my name doesn't start with "Coach".
For the first time in a long time I'm trusting the staff and the moves they are making. That doesn't mean they're not going to make a mistake here and there, but overall I have faith in Gibbs and co. Spriggs is a vet with starting experience, for this staff that trumps a 3rd year tackle with limited experience. |

I don't get the Winey thing, unless he's more injured than we know. The Times had no mention of it today, though they wrote about Spriggs:
Spriggs expected to sign to shore up line

Ade has been disappointing we need good cornerbacks, if he can't cut it then cut him. If Buges wants Winey gone then peace out Winey. The o-line is looking alot better than they used to thats why i keep wondering why
Ramsey hasnt improved, no spurrier no college blocking schemes he has enough time in the pocket. Get wit it Patrick. No one is above the ax especially QB's they are too important if we get beat by Dallas again I don't know how i will deal with life. |
