Pierson Prioleau?
I'm wondering if anybody knows if Redskins re trying to resign Pierson or not? I mean, I think he should be one of vets we should try to resign.. He may not have a big role but his role is important - he's versatile, he takes over any position when necessary..

Re: Pierson Prioleau?
He's the top remaining safety on the market, and I'm sure the team will offer him some sort of deal to bring him back. I'd be surprised if he took it though.
I still expect Jacksonville to chase and win his services.

Re: Pierson Prioleau?
We dont need him, He's suspect. We need to get other younger players to fill that position.Or at laeast a vet thats capable

Re: Pierson Prioleau?
He's suspect if forced into the starting lineup, but he's a good backup. Also, I'm not sure if we need more youth at safety considering our starters are Landry and Reed. A decent vet like Prioleau might be good for the younger guys.

Re: Pierson Prioleau?
say no to prioleau. Seriously guys, have you forgot how much he got burned last year? His reactions are SO slow and he cant cover anyone man to man. He was a lot better before he destroyed his leg, but he just hasnt been playing the same as he did in 05'.
When I said youth at safety, I didnt mean rookies. I meant we need to try and find a 3-4 year vet. I' wish we would of just moved springs to SS then we could have got Hall. Then we wouldnt need PP, and Springs can play cb or safety, we should use him as such. We could pick up a good CB in the draft and then move Springs to safety, as well as CB. We would have Smoot,Rogers,Springs,Rookie 1st-2nd round draft pick,Torrence, an Eubanks. Plus we have Vernon Fox for depth at safety too.(he could spell springs and doughty, I would rotate springs and doughty at SS, then when springs is rotated to CB, Fox could back up Doughty.) |

I don't seem to ever remember him getting toasted last year. His major benefit as a safety is that he DOES have decent coverage skills. In fact in recent years he has played our nickle back when needed and done a decent job. And why the heck would we need Hall if we kept Springs at CB and played the two guys we already have at safety? Landry is very good and Doughty showed he coulod be good. Springs could be a terrible safety for all we know. I don't get the love for Springs at safety when he is already clearly our best coverage CB. |

Re: Pierson Prioleau?
He's not the best that we have but he provides ok depth. He will be better next season if what they say about knee surgery is true (entering year 2 afterwards). That could have been what, in part, caused him to get burnt pretty badly on occasion. I like signing him cuz of continuity issues and if we are just gonna give his roster spot to someone with equal talent (and a comparable salary) who is new to the locker room, why not keep this guy on team. He had no real character issues and always seems to try his best out there
Long is good but i dont know about #2/3 overall like he's been projected. Definitely a mid first rounder though. I think it speaks to how uniform the talent in this draft is...nobody really knows who is gonna be an absolute stud.

Re: Pierson Prioleau?
Plus, he's going to follow Greg Williams.. Even everyone at Extremeskins says hell no this guy. He's not the same player he was, and yes its year 2 after his surgery but he's also 2 years older than he was before he got hurt.

Re: Pierson Prioleau?
