Kenoy Kennedy

The Lions released Kenoy Kennedy today. I think we should go after him to add depth to the safety position, and to compete with Reed for the starting SS spot. As you all will remember Kennedy was the Lion who got trucked by Sellers last season, but overall I think he's a decent strong safety.

Re: Kenoy Kennedy

I was about to say, you want the same dude who got absolutely manhandled by Big Mike? I don't think we need him, I think Reed did a fine job at SS last year n he did good enough to win the job for this season. I don't think Kenoy Kennedy is that good of a player either, when I saw the Lions games from last season he didn't play good ball most of the time.

Re: Kenoy Kennedy

Dude would you want to share a locker room with a dude that smashed you on national TV? I doubt if Kennedy wants to come here to be Mike Sellars bi. If he came here Mike Sellars could turn out one of his pockets and make Kennedy hold on to it.

Re: Kenoy Kennedy

It would be nice to go after Kenoy Kennedy in free agency, he has been a solid safety his entire career, whether it was when he was in Denver, or when he was with that terrible Lions defense.

Re: Kenoy Kennedy

Yes,we should sign him.We need more depth at the position,we can't keep waiting to sign depth.Demps is gone and pretty soon nobody will be left and we will have to waste a late pick on the position. He's solid enough..let's get him!

Nah man. Kennedy is Mike Sellars's child, he's Mike Sellars's son. Mike Sellars owns Kennedy. No one on the redskins would respect him.

No problem. I just figured we need depth at the safety position big time, and I think Kennedy is a solid enough safety to provide that. There is no doubt in my mind that Kennedy is an upgrade over Prioleau, Stoutmire, and Fox. Plus I think Kennedy would come pretty cheap.

I think Boulware has really regressed since his rookie year. I'm not sure he's our answer

Yeah but he didn't get smashed by Mike Sellars either.
Both of these guy aren't top tier but Boulware could back-up Doughty at SS.

A guy i really like is Matt Giordano he could back-up both spots. But he's a restricted FA so would probably cost more, (how much? idk)

I dont really see why we should sign Matt Giordano, because all he has been in his career is an ok special teams player.

In 2 words: Quality Depth

He's filled in with the Colts when Sanders went down, then again when Bethea was hurt and was productive. I'm not saying he should start, but he would provide depth at both safety spots.

Look if you want to make the argument that if a safety gets smashed by Mike Sellers than he must suck. Well if that's the case then I guess Brian Dawkins is a horrible safety too. Mike Sellers weighs 285 lbs. What happened to Kennedy on that play most likely would've happened to most of the safeties in the leauge.

Good post. It's like the people who say "Well Aqib Talib must suck because look at this YouTube video of Jordy Nelson burning him" It's a dumb argument to make. There has to be more substance to the argument than one play.
