How About Yeremiah Bell?
Next in the line of the "How About [insert has been, never was, or never will be star Free Agent]?" threads. I question whether Dolphins "never was a star" safety Yeremiah Bell would be a good addition to the Skins.
In 2006, Bell emerged as a play maker for the Dolphins desecrated secondary by laying the wood and showing a lot of range. 2007 was supposed to be the year the rest of the league took note, but he tore his ACL, interestingly enough, against us in the first game. Enter Parcells, and now there's uncertainty about him returning to the Phins. I think he'd be worth a roster spot. He's probably not going to cost a whole lot, after the torn ACL, and I think he could beat out Reed Doughty for the starting spot. At worst, he'd add much desired depth at the SS position, and be a hard hitting rotational player in the secondary. So, please humor me. Toss out a few yay, nays while we wait for the next has been, never was, or will be star free agent to be inserted into the "How About...?" threads. Re: How About Yeremiah Bell?
So what should we do here? Have that one "Scrap Heap" thread for all guys like this. Or one for each?
Matty, any thoughts?

Re: How About Yeremiah Bell?
No more How About threads. Get your butt over to NFL Draft Central and talk with me about draft prospects. Ironically the only guys who desevere a how about thread don't have one. Drayton Florence and DJ Hacket.

Re: How About Yeremiah Bell?
I personally think that the "How about" threads are to specific, while the "Scarp Heap" thread is to vauge. From my experience it seems the more vauge a thread is the easier it is for someone to take the thread off topic. I'd like to see the following threads. The ones that should get a look are highlighted in bold. The ones that should be under consideration are in italics.
FA DL FA LB's FA DB's FA OL FA WR/TE FA RB/FB FA QB's Same goes for the draft.

Re: How About Yeremiah Bell?
I always liked Bell, but their are some health concerns with him and he's 30 years old. Depending on what he's looking for I wouldn't mind bringing him in for depth.

Re: How About Yeremiah Bell?
really the FAs are pretty terrible to care much about a backup safety. at vet min he's depth, beyond that, i wouldn't throw money at him. he's just another of a large group of ho hum depth dbs.

Re: How About Yeremiah Bell?
I wonder if he'll be able to rebound from that injury. He was poised to have a breakout year til the Skins took him down.
I was thinking of him more for depth like a Pierson Prielou, but I think that if he were brought on for depth, there's a good chance he'd beat out Reed Doughty for the starting spot. I doubt his price tag will be that high. |

Re: How About Yeremiah Bell?
No, only because he spells his first name Yeremiah. That's retarded.

Re: How About Yeremiah Bell?
I saw that, with a pretty cheap price tag too.
