Campbell's Brain Explodes...
ESPN - Zorn top candidate as O coordinator but no Fassel deal yet - NFL
"On Wednesday, the Redskins met with Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn, and he has emerged as the top choice to be their new offensive coordinator, no matter who is hired as head coach. It appears that the Redskins will part ways with assistant head coach/offense Al Saunders, who joined the staff in 2006 as one of the NFL's highest paid assistants. This would represent Campbell's SEVENTH offensive scheme in the last EIGHT years. This guy is going to be fried and I just can't imagine him being as good as he could have been when he just can't get comfortable in a system to further develop. Part of me would like to see an entire restructuring of the team from top to bottom if we can't find stability in any area, essentially a new start without the old worries. |

Schneed can you give me five reasons why this thread shouldn't be locked?

Can we settle for 2?

#1 - If you lock it, we can't make fun of him for starting the thread. #2 - If you keep it open, we could probably find some way to bait Irish into debating all of his points here, and set up a bot to keep arguing with him making the same points over and over until Irish's head explodes. #3 - I could only come up with two. Looks like it has to be locked!

Re: Campbell's Brain Explodes...
Five reasons/related questions that make this a top notch thread:
#1 - We've yet to discuss the cap ramifications of a cranial explosion. #2 - What is the turn around time for an injury such as said explosion? #3 - Would Patrick Ramsey be able to adjust to Zorn's system? #4 - Can we expect Campbell to also learn all of the defensive plays without his brain exploding? #5 - We don't have enough Pro Al Saunders threads here, and that stinks.

If the new coach is not Williams, I believe that Campbell's days will be numbered in Washington.

Re: Campbell's Brain Explodes...
I love Campbell, but he was drafted by Gibbs and he is not around anymore. Time will tell!

During our recent run into the playoffs we all saw what our offense could look like with a QB that's studied it for years, a healthy group of receivers, and Al calling the plays with autonomy. Look at Al's KC statistics. His offense wasn't #1 overnight. Over the course of 4 or 5 seasons it steadily rose from bottom of the pack to middle of the pack to top 10 to top 5 to # 2 and #1 in his last two years there. Also as much as I love Gibbs, I do believe Al would have had better results overall in his two years if he was allowed to run the offense with autonomy. We all know Gibbs would get involved down in the red zone with playcalling. He's said so himself. Also if Cowher's the coach Danny really wants, then why not give the existing group another year, knowing that Cowher would most likely be available next year? Then if Gregg and company can go further in the playoffs next year we know we already have the right coach. I can see Dan hiring Fassell, us going 5-11, and firing Fassell next year, only to bring in Cowher. Ugh! |

Re: Campbell's Brain Explodes...
Hey guys: I asked Redskins a question on the radio. It was the third question asked.
Was it a good one?
