Tell us about your franchise
Ok, so I simmed through the first season, I just like to put my own stamp on the team before I start playing, plus I wanted to check out the offseason stuff. The 'Skins went 14-2 and got to the Super Bowl against the Colts!
Some noteable stats, Portis ran for over 1600 yards and scored 15 TD's. I'm not sure what happened at QB, but somehow Ramsey ended up the starter even though I left Brunell as the #1. Ramsey threw for over 3400 yards, 25 TD's and 14 picks. Coles had over 70 catches for about 1200 yards and 9 TD's. Arrington had a nice year with 6 sacks and a couple of picks, over 100 tackles. Springs had 9 int's. Once they got to the bowl that's when I decided to play my first game, I trounced the Colts 34-6. Finally a SB celebration! Not sure why EA has ignored that for so long. Confetti rained down and Gibbs was dowsed with gator aid. Now on to the offseason. Brunell was ticked about not playing and wanted a trade, so I gladly delt him to Miami along with Haley and Wynn for Ogunleye. Kendrell Bell was available in free agency so I signed him to a 7 year deal and traded Barrow away for a 2nd round pick next year. In the draft I took a couple of promising looking DT's, both are in the low 70's as rookies. Also picked up a nice MLB but that was before I picked up Bell so this rook might not see much PT. I ended up quitting at 1am, way past my bedtime, LOL. I still have to finish up the training camp drills tonight. By the way, Taylor is at a 92 in his second season, Ramsey is in the 90's too. Portis, Arrington and Coles are all 99's. A few other guys are in the 90's too, Jansen, Samuels, Thomas, O-Gun, Washington, so my team is pretty stacked right now. I'm hoping the cap comes in to play more this year, because last year it was pretty easy to keep a stacked team together as long as you didn't kill yourself with cap hits. |

In the franchise I just started I immediatly traded Brunell, and Wynn I beleive to the patriots for Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren. Wilfork is an 80 DT rookie, and warren is an 83 one year pro end. Great trade in my opinion, would have never worked in the old maddens because older players held no value. Plus I got another cane, heh. I just started preseason, I practiced training camp in the minicamp practice mode before acutally doing it. It helped out so much practicing first, if you havent tried it you should. It makes you a much better player in minicamp. I actually got five point on the all madden level for trench fight, i never even used to try passed rookie level for that drill on 04.

Has anyone noticed there seems to be a few more injuries this year? Seems like every game I have a few guys who have to leave the game for at least a few plays, and I started the season with Griffin out for 6 weeks and Bauman out for 4. In '04 you could go the whole season and not lose anyone.
The one thing I wish they would have fixed more is the QB accuracy. I'm hitting on 76% right now with Ramsey, and that's about where I left off with in '04. Granted I play a pretty conservative passing game with lots of high percentage throws like curls, slants and dump offs to the TE and RB's. Still, I wish they would have taken a page out of the NCAA series and had more off target throws. |

The QB accuracy is one of the best things they fixed in madden this year. What level are you playing at, if your playing on rookie or pro then its not really changed any. start playing on all pro and youll definitly notice the difference. Im playing on all pro right now and having a blast because its acutally realistic. I cant do stupid plays, you cant air it out on streaks. I can even hit a curl route if im scrambling and have to throw opposite field. All my games have been close. In 04 I knew I would play on all madden and wouldnt lose, I knew how the comp played, it was very predictable. The AI is greatly improved in this years madden.

I usually turn injuries off, I hate losing people (I'm one of those guys that likes one off games more than franchising).

I just read a bunch of things you guys have been saying about madden in different forums, and I think one of everyones problems is that they are playing on the pro level. Theres nothing wrong with playing on the pro level, but the AI is completly different on the other levels. If you gusy remember, all the reviews of madden talked about how Madden, and all madden level, was the most realistic AI of any football game ever made by far.
