that sux . . . at one point i was thinking of starting a thread about how little we were injured in this game . . . that hurts, but at least Blades can be developed some. Rocky had a very good second year. Hopefully he'll be probowl material nest year, and Blades wll be a solid guy in rotation next year. Its nice how quickly we fixed our LB unit, especially because it seems we'll be pretty solid there for some time.

Well JLC is reporting that Rocky tore his MCL and ACL, may be out until 2009, and that it typically takes 18-24 months to fully recover from such severe injuries. That's a big blow. Between the severe injuries to Thomas, Jansen, Campbell, Rocky, and Rogers, the loss of Sean Taylor, and the nagging injuries to Rabach, Wade, ARE, Moss, Thrash, Washington, Griffin and Smoot, it is nothing short of astounding that we are 7-7. That's 12/22 starters who are either done for or who have been suffering throughout the year.

Quick, dial Dallas Sartz phone #. We are truly jinxed, no Rogers or McIntosh in 2008. I guess you could add LB to our draft shopping spree.

That's unbelievable...12 out of 22 starters! Too bad you can't prevent these things

Is that the same knee he got scoped last season? If so that's really messed up.

Damn Gibbs sucks. Any coach can go undefeated with less than half of the players who were expected to play.

That statement is astounding. 12/22 starters is unusual, and more than one team can take.

You know, I've been starting to think something similar. I've been very frustrated with Gibbs' clock management this year, and some other things here and there. But when you consider all the crap this team has gone through, 7-7 is a pretty admirable coaching job.

It's not a coaching job up to par with what he used to do back in the 80s, because that Gibbs never made these kind of clock management mistakes. But Gibbs II is clearly just as effective as ever when it comes to bringing men together to scratch and claw and fight for a common goal, especially when faced with adversity.

Overall, I'm very proud of this team.

That's true, but it's not even a complete list -- we also lost Brandon Lloyd for the year [insert joke here], and at least Heyer, Springs, Portis, and Sellers have each missed time due to injury. So I think the tally is something more like 17/22 starters affected. I suspect we could confirm that no team has ever had to contend with this kind of carnage. Apart from the number of games missed, the sheer number of people affected is really hard to overcome as chemistry is so important. So in a sense, it is harder to have constant flux than losing a few players early for the year. We, sadly, have had both.
