the playoff hunt...

We're 6-7, and have 3 teams above us.
Detroit 6-6, we have the tie breaker vs them, and they play Dallas.
Minnesota 6-6, we play them soon, and they play SF.
Arizona 6-6, we have the tie breaker vs them, and they play seattle.

It's very possible we will see ourselves behind only Minnesota after this week, and in two weeks we will face them which could be the key to the last playoff spot. Either way we look at this, we are still very much in the playoff picture.

Right now, the Minnesota game looms as the tougher match up. The Vikings WHOOPED the Giants in New York two weeks ago 41-17, and crushed the Lions last week 41-10. They've won three in a row, are hot, and have the chance to gain even more momentum by playing the 49ers this weekend. And our game against them will be in Minnesota. I know someone has warned that we shouldn't be looking past the Giants, and I'm definitely not, but it's that Viking team that right now looks like the much tougher opponent.

Sorry to rain in on this parade, but we'll get spanked by the Giants, and the pain will all be over...real soon.

Huh? The Giants are going to get a battle tested Redskin team in ten days. We have been in almost every game this season.

Yeah, but out of our 6/7 losses, we choked at the end:
Giants:gave it up, 24-21, up by 10 at the half.
Packers: Had a chance, gave up a stupid fumble, 17-14
Pats: Forget it, 52-7
Birds: Lost at the end, couldn't score in Red zone 32-26
Dallas: Late INT. 28-23
Tampa: 6 ints, 19-13
Buffalo: Bad penalty, 17-16, led whole game

as you see, this is the anatomy of a 2000's skin team

At least the one game I went to this year wasnt the 52-7 blowout at Gillete...

If we win against the Giants and Vikings its shades of 05... we had the 3 game losing streak to go to 5-6 all close games (even tho we won the TB game f*ck Mike Allstott!!) and then we started wining big down the stretch..

Id feel better without all the injuries but whatever were playing meaningful games in December and thats what its all about!!

IT would be a true miracle for the skins to make the playoffs but if 8-8 is alive I like the chances

Basically we need to win out. I think the most important question, besides the Giants game is will the Cowboys play starters in the last game?

Re: the playoff hunt...

win out or go home.

Time to get the Todd Collins train rolling baby. Warm up the "Collins Caravan", and let's get this party started baby!

I don't like our chances... and I think we finish 8-8, but if we win out that would be awesome.

Re: the playoff hunt...

Last night was further evidence that this team is not built to play grind it out "Redskins Football". The sooner Gibbs recognizes this and allows Saunders to continue running the more aggressive KC style offense we saw in the 2nd half last night, the better our chances will be.

Was it that he ran Saunders system more the second half or that Collins knows how to run the system better JC?

I think the Bills game taught him that. Give me 31 rushing yds and a win.
