No bout a doubt it: Clinton Portis.

If the guy get's 25 carries a game, our chances of winning go way up.

Portis.

Way to run the ball today. Our team had over 200 yards on the ground and Portis had over 100. Who knows where we would've been without the run game today.

Portis is my easy choice, with Suisham 2nd.

Portis is officially off the schnide with his effort today. 36 rushes, 196 yards and a TD. Nice job CP and the big fatties up front.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?

Even though Suisham cost us anywhere between 2-3 points with short kickoffs, he gets my gameball.

I picked the score to be Jets 20, Skins 17. The only difference between that and the final is that Suisham hit all four of his field goals in regulation, none of them under 40, and forced overtime in a stadium that is historically rough on kickers (see: Nugent's miss to end the first half).

Oh yeah, he also kicked the game winner as straight as possible.

This one's easy.

Portis has to get it
If Suisham had a leg he would have kicked it behind the goaline and we win in regulation without 7 point from kickoff return[

That's ridiculous. You could also say if the other 10 guys on the field had been able to make a tackle on that play, we would've won in regulation.

I voted for Portis.

Yeah I was counting on that safety to avoid OT till Suisham pooched it.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?

I gave it to Mangina for punting the ball away at our own 37 yd line in OT knowing his defense couldn't stop us terrific call for a 1-7 team, it was a Gibbs like decision.

But if it has to be a player then I think you have to go with Portis, 196 yards is a big accomplishment regardless how bad the Jets are.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?

Obviously the running game had the biggest effect on the win, and Portis certainly broke some big important runs, but I can't give the game ball to him or his line because the line was horrible in protection and Portis simply ran (well) with the holes his line created.

Isn't that what any back does?

196 yards is a damn good day no matter what way you spin it.

Yeah. And I obviously have no flaws with the way Portis ran today, as evidenced by his yardage total. Today he ran like an NFL capable runner, and I was relieved. He even broke a few tackles.

To me though, doing the job given the condidtions doesn't always land you the game ball. Doing something somewhat exceptional (like Suisham did) does.
