Da Bears want Marshall
NFL network says that throwing an additional player like Marshall in would seal the deal, to complete the Lance Briggs trade. To me thats the deal breaker, check the link...NFL.com - NFL News

Re: Da Bears want Marshall
"The Bears will have a need at linebacker if Briggs is gone, so a player like LeMar Marshall (104 tackles last year), who is going to be a backup if Briggs joins new addition London Fletcher on the Redskins defense, might interest Jerry Angelo."
This is not saying they want Marshall. This is Kirwan speculating.

Just wish people would pay closer attention to the things they read and hear. Could save a bunch of heart attacks that way.

Re: Da Bears want Marshall
Well i was paying attention, and though we don't know for sure what the Bears want the title of the post seemed adequate for feeback purposes. Its an interesting link, u make to much of the title

Re: Da Bears want Marshall
You wanted to draw attention, I understand. But it's a misleading title. Cause everyone is "Holy crap I can't believe they'd ask for Marshall" Well first of all, they never said that. Secondly, yes they've hinted they want more. What else are they going to say? It's a negotiation. That's what happens in negotiations.

We dont need LB's anymore than we need losing seasons! If we trade for anything, let it be for Calvin Johnson and a 3rd rounder from Cleveland! The Posse 2007!!!

Re: Da Bears want Marshall
So we'd trade up three spots and get a third round pick too!!! What a Deal!!!! Back to reality land, I've kind of resigned myself to some sort of deal getting done and kind of bracing myself for that. If the Skins were to include someone like Marshall I will have to live with that too. If they do trade Marshall or someone like that I just NEVER WANT TO HEAR ANYONE AT REDSKINS PARK SAY "TRUE REDSKINS" EVER AGAIN. Every "True Redskin" that we've had on the team is unceremoniously run out of town on a rail and I'm kind of getting sick of hearing them say "True Redskins" and then bring in high price players from other teams to take the place of guys like Ryan Clark, Antonio Pierce, and Lemar Marshall. I've come to grips with whatever they do, but I wish they would at least be honest and stop blowing smoke up our collective . . .

If they want Marshall, forget it. We would be worse off than before the trade.

Re: Da Bears want Marshall
I like Marshall, but honestly, getting Briggs eliminates a lot of the use he would have on this team. If we honestly think that Briggs is all that, I'm not sure why we couldn't spare Marshall.

How about our joke of a FO stop chasing big name players, move Marsahall back at weakside to compete w/ Rocky and go for more pressing needs? This whole Briggs trade proposal is such a joke it's not even funny. Briggs is going to be playing behind highway 99. Let's see how good he is when he's got highway 99 being pushed back into his area. Let's see how good he is then. |

Re: Da Bears want Marshall
So you think its logical, we trade the 6th overall pick in the draft and a guy who was our starting MLB until this year for a system LB, (the same system i believe that created Warrick Holdman) and the 31st overall pick in the draft, please tell me how we gain anyground here, we give up a cheap serviceable LB for a guy who has had two good seasons in a great system for LBs and then turn around and pay him 20 mil guarenteed, are you not the same guy that thinks its a terrible idea to draft Calvin Johnson? how is this any better? No one really knows how good he is until he gets away from Chicago, this reminds me of Trotter a little bit too much, the only difference is we only had to give up money for Trotter, not drop 25 spots in the draft
