Breakout Players
Since we've got a thread going about surprise teams. How about a similar one of breakout players. Guys who will surprisingly or maybe unsurprisingly be among the league leaders. Guy like Rudi Johnson from last year.
Here are a few guys I'm thining could break out this year: Byron Leftwich, Lee Suggs, Justin McCareins, and Tai Streets Looking forward to hearing what my fellow Warpathers, aka my unsuspecting fantasy football scouting team, thinks.

with rudi stepping up, i think kenny watson may get a chance to get some looks this year... still kinda sad we let him go... i don't expect him to be top ten or anything, but i think he can prove that he's a reliable backup.
mccants and jacobs will have a shot to break out this year... i don't see mccants as getting huge yards, but if he can do another 6-10 tds, we'd be in good shape... i definately think jacobs will prove he was a steal for a 2nd round pick. ramsey always has a shot to prove he's more than just a starting QB.. of course, he'll have to start first, but... |

I like the pick of Lee Suggs if Davis is smart enough to start him early and often, dominque davis is gonna have a huge year this year, look for David Boston to post probowl numbers without all the drama, Curtis Martin will be back to his old self, and my pick to win most improved player of the year is Brunnel if he wins the starting job.

on the defensive side look for Charles Woodson to make a strong comeback after being hurt a lot the past 2 seasons, unfortunately Marcus wiley was a smart pick up by the cowpies, daniels could wind up being a huge pickup if he regains his form from a couple years ago when he had 9 sacks I believe, springs if he stays healthy could be among the top 8 cbs in the league, and look for Rosevelt Colvin to bounce back from his injury early last year to make NE's defense even stronger.

Nice call with Davis. The Texans could have something special with Carr, Davis, and Andre Johnson

I think Terrel Suggs could have another huge year. He put up what, 12 sacks last year and didnt even start. If he starts this year he will dominate. That guy just has a knack for the qb, I dont know how he dropped so far in the draft.
I think Dewayne Robertson could have a good year this year. Not so great of a rookie performance but I still think he could end up doing well.

If Larry Fitzgerald is half as good as he was touted to be, then the Cards will have a passing attack with him on one side and Boldin on the other side. So the Cards' QB, Josh McNown might just put up some really improved numbers this year.
I like Andre Johnson - the Texans' WR - and think that he might show some significant growth this year. |

I forgot to list Bowen since he'll be starting in his natural position has a decent shot at improving his production especially under Williams' guidance.
and coming back from his injury watch out for charles rogers in detroit especialy with a good running game in kevin jones and roy williams lining up with him. |

ditto on johnson... i think carr and andre will both have great years... also watch out for the rookie jackson for the Rams- if faulk gets hurt, he's gonna be good. Edge should also have a really good year (two years removed from his injury).

QBs-David Carr, Mark Brunell, and Byron Leftwich
RBs-Corey Dillon, Fred Taylor, Julius Jones (urgggg, he posts 1,250 yards rushing his rookie season) WRs-Santana Moss, Ashley Lelie TEs-Jason Witten (urggg again), Kellen Winslow (urgggg...he helps Garcia adjust to a new offense with a crappy oline), L.J. Smith (he takes over Chad Lewis' starting spot midway through the year) G-Derrick Dockery becomes a run-blocking monster, Shawn Andrews (a lot say he was picked too high, but he's going to make the Eagles oline's run-blocking scary) LBs-Marcus Washington ( ), Terrell Suggs (if its possible for him to break out anymore than he already has), Nick Barnett, Jonathan Vilma (brings the green a little speed) CBs-Marcus Trufant, Shawn Springs (stays healthy and makes Champ's departure a little less sad) |
