How do you find out about where the players are signing autographs at stores etc?

The best place I find is the newspaper or you could try signingshotline.com they show signings in all states.

That is a pay sight... I am way to cheap for that... I did hear that Pat Fischer, Ron McDole, Ladell Betts and Chris Hanburger will be doing signings at a store in Fredericksburg for a small fee.
