Words of Wisdom

The most profound words you will ever hear thanks to Richard Dreyfus.

Re: Words of Wisdom

I saw that episode when it aired. He's a smart guy, a little too wordy, but he makes some great points.

Tom Morello was also on that episode.

I agree, he was talking in circles a little bit near the end. He's right though, about the teaching.

... and Tom Morello kicks ass! Did you know he went to Harvard?

Re: Words of Wisdom

This is great. Not enough people come out and educate like that.

For the simple reason that it gets boring. We don't want to hear it.

We want the theatre of hardball and fox news, etc...

He's pretty close to dead-on here.

Re: Words of Wisdom

i was surprised how intelligent Richard Dreyfus is. politics now a days is all about what best for the candidates party, and not what is best for the people

I think I liked him better when he was a hopped up little coke monkey in the "Let It Ride" era.

Re: Words of Wisdom

I do not think he is "wordy" at all. What he is saying makes perfect sense, IMO. I feel simplfying it anymore with easier words would work agaisnt his position that everything we hear is too similar.

You really didn't think he was wordy?

He reminds me of some of my old college professors. He makes some great points, but after a while he was going in circles a bit. If he didn't have a time limit he would have gone on for hours.

I think there is a difference between going around in circles and being wordy. I do agree that he could have gotten to the point quicker, but I think just because he did not use "easier" words makes him wordy. Being wordy, IMO, kind of has arrogent/negative light on it.

I think his whole point is politics and civic issues are over simplified. Using smaller words would just continue to do exactly what he feels is killing society.
