Panthers @ Redskins: Predictions

I see bad matchups across the board in this weekend's game against the Panthers. Panthers win 27-14.

The Redskins offensive line, already beset by injuries to Jansen, Samuels, and Rabach, has to face the best front four in football. Jansen gets molested like a boy scout who got lost at a seminary. Campbell takes some vicious hits and is inconsistent in his throws, ending up 15/32 for 160 yards and 1 TD and 2 INTs. Lloyd finishes with 3 catches for 60 yards and ARE finishes with 2 catches for 19 yards. The running game stalls and, as usual, Saunders abandons the run early. Duckett gets 11 carries for 42 yards and Betts gets 9 carries for 30 yards.

The Redskins defense gets torched by Steve Smith, Keyshawn Johnson, and Jake Delhomme for 260 yards in the air. Once again, they can't stop the run and the Panthers rack up 130 yards on the ground.

I prefer to be positive.

I think the Redskins play old scholl football this weekend. Lay the wood and bring home a close victory. I look for big things from our defensive line this week.

Re: Panthers @ Redskins: Predictions

Offensively, I think we can keep up with Carolina. I think our receivers can make some noise against their secondary.

The defense is what worries me. It all starts up front, both on the offense and defense. I think it will come down to who controls the line of scrimmage and from the looks of it (on paper), Carolina can easily dominate us.

All I ask is that the guys play hard and we see more improvement from JC. In the end, I think we'll lose, but not by much.

27-21

Redskins win 16-13. We get some turnovers and do just enough to keep them out of the endzone for most of the game. Next week's post features a picture of Campbell and the headline, The Next Elway?

There is optimism and then there is REAL optimism! I'd be happy if he was the next Doug Williams, let alone Elway.

Trying to be unbiased and look at it objectively it is hard to see the Skins winning this unless the D suddenly turns up. Like a lot of people, I worry about the o-line and the d-line and think that we could get dominated on both.

There is optimism and then there is also dreaming. Carolina is on a roll and is so far undefeated in the second half of the season. With the Redskin O-line dinged up, Peppers and Rucker will give Campbell fits.

Carolina 17 Washington 3

If we can hold them to 17 we would win easily. Their defense doesn't really scare me that much. The Redskins will win 38 - 31. Hold on, I think Micheal Irvin's at the door...

If Dallas beat em in Carolina, how hard can it be?

That's not to say that Dallas sucks (they don't...this year), but to point out that if Peppers and co. don't disappear in the 2nd half of that game, Dallas is looking at no better than 6-5 right now.

Re: Panthers @ Redskins: Predictions

I like our chances. I think we are something like 3-1 alltime against the Panthers. I think we pull out a close one in front of 90,000+ and give everyone something to be thankful for this weekend which is a Redskin victory.

Re: Panthers @ Redskins: Predictions

seems like carolina is as inconsistant as the redskins. and delhomme has been very erratic. skins run the ball, win time of possesion, and win 20-14

Re: Panthers @ Redskins: Predictions

I think Campbell plays well again this week but the defense will give up too much versus a good Panthers offense. Panthers win 31-21
