Carson Palmer looks awesome

I know its just the preseason and it doesn't mean anything, but after watching the Monday Night game, I'm convinced that Carson Palmer will have NO problem with his knee this season. I guess I learned one thing this preseason.

palmer did look good last night. shows no ill effects from the knee injury. I blew out my knee...just one ligament and it took me almost a whole year to be able to get around real good. That is medical miracle that he is out there 8 months after tearing his knee up.

He looked good but I think it's jumping the gun to declare he won't have any problems throughout the season with that knee.

At the start of the season he'll be just 9 months out from a major reconstruction. I'd be shocked if he doesn't have some sort of lingering problems during the season that may cause him to miss a game or two at the least.

It is not just Carson Palmer....the entire Bengals team looks good this preseason. They man-handled us two weeks ago.
Their defense looks strong, they had an awesome draft and the MLB from UVA they got in the supplemental draft is looking like a future probowl pick. He just needs to keep his nose clean.
With the Patriots healthy and strong again and the Steelers, Bengals and Colts looking strong, the AFC is more top heavy than the NFC.

Re: Carson Palmer looks awesome

i would disagree because cinn. definitely plays preseason games to win. does a 4-0 preseason translate into regular season sucess? i guess time will tell

Where were you last season? Cinn. was a playoff team last year and was elimanted by Super Bowl champs Steelers after Palmer had his knee injured early in the game. They proved themselves last year.

Cincy looked great. Some coaches show more in preseason, I guess. Cincy is for real--if they can keep their players out of jail...

Re: Carson Palmer looks awesome

I made the mistake when the Bengals drafted Palmer of just lumping him with David Klingler and Akili Smith and figuring he'd be doomed to the same fate. Guess the difference is Palmer actually has talent

Which is amazing because when he was here at USC, his career was somewhat mediocre. He had a good senior season, but before that his numbers were unimpressive:
*Overall in 2001 while starting all 12 games, he completed 221-of-377 passes (58.6%) for 2,717 yards with 13 TDs and 12 interceptions.
*Overall in 2000 he completed 228-of-415 passes (54.9%) for 2,914 yards and 16 TDs with 18 interceptions.
In 1999 he broke his collarbone in week 3 and sat out the season.
So not bad, per se, most folks around here thought he could go the route of Rob Johnson but he has definitely become a superior QB.

what was the talent around him like? I diddn't follow the draft that far back, so i don't really know, but he seems competitive as hell. I mean, he took rudi and CJ to indy games just to watch peyton warm up. He wants it bad.

it really shows you how getting lucky on a QB sure can change your fortunes in a hurry. he was drafted into a system with a good coach though that knew how to get the rest of the team in order. Now if he can just keep them out of jail....

My classmates sat through his entire his college career- and we groaned throughout most of it. He had a tendency to throw the ball accurately- to the other team.

His senior year, one man changed everything: Norm Chow. The guy just knows how to turn out quarterbacks.
