College Football

Okay I know a lot of people here are probably big college ball fans as well, so how bout a lil ncaa talk... who would be your preseason top 10, heisman candidates etc...

Personally I like
1. ohio state
2. texas
3. WVU
4. norte dame
5. lsu
6. miami
7. usc
8. louisville
9. oklahoma
10. TCU

i can see michael bush, the running back for louisville running away with the heisman this year given the big easts softness, he'll be able to rack up the numbers again this year, that being said, a darkhorse in the same conference in steve slaton... (i may be a little mountaineer bias )

Re: College Football

I agree about Quinn. He has a legitimate shot at the Heismann. Despite the fact that I am a self-proclaimed homer, I realistically think Va Tech will be in the top ten.

Glennon is the starter....for now. In truth all of the QB's on the roster are fairly equivalent to one another. Beamer's teams have made a lot of average QB's look good.

HAHA! Hokies DO suck but Mountaineers.. [edited due to PETA protestations]

hahaha, i can see tech being a legitamate top 25 team this year, probably in the top 15, especially with their schedule i would expect nothing short of 9 wins this fall

You're right. Their schedule is so cake. I can't remeber the last time I looked at their schedule and visibly smiled. Miami away is the only tough one. Virginia and BC will be interesting games but neither of those team are cruising along at the same speed as the rest of the ACC.

BC will take a step back this year, and UVA, come on, even tech cant screw that up... wait... maybe....

Re: College Football

I'd be shocked if Texas was that good this year. They obviously lost their best player, and now their starting RB wants to transfer. Plus, half their D is gone.
Notre Dame should be pretty nasty. Also, I wouldn't be suprised if Peterson from OU rebounds this year.

theres been a lot of talk about him and oklahoma this year and i just dont buy it, they went 8-4 in a rebuilding season yes, but their wins were over very soft opponnents they lost to everry decent team they played, the only quality win i give them is over a VERY overrated oregon team

Re: College Football

texas also has 2 other backs that combined for like 20 TD's last season, i think they have a lot of talented depth in that area, the biggest concern is definitley QB

The defense for UT will be BETTER than last year and YOUNG. Biggest question is at QB. The running back that left, was BOOTED and a trouble maker (Ramonce Taylor). Two big time backs will take the load this year with an offensive line that is all back with the exception of right tackle. Texas is a top 5 team and could be better yet if they can get a W vs. Ohio State the second week of the season in Austin!

Hook em Horns!

I still think that Notre Dame will be very good and Quinn will win the heisman.

Re: College Football

I meant Peterson individually. He was injured most of last season if I'm not mistaken. He was so good his freshman year that I'd be suprised if it was just a fluke.
I have no idea how OU will do in general.
