Re: Mock Draft Commentary

As the representative for both the Titans and the Browns, I made the trade to the Titans as the Browns for the number three pick in the draft. I selected DeAngelo Williams to give (who I feel will be the best back in the draft) the Browns a great skill player at each position.

As the Titans I will be taking the Browns spot at #12 and will also be taking a sescond round selection.

One of the rules, (I forgot to post), is that you can't trade between teams you control. I'll post that now.

You have been booted. I am now the Titans, and I say no thankyou.

LEINART

Norm Chow as OC makes this pick a no brainer.

I wouldn't say it's a no brainer, because their is rampant report that even with Leinart available, the Titans want Vince Young.

But Leinart is the better QB, so why wouldn't you take him!

you'd trade up to the #3 spot to take a RB for the browns that'd be there anyways later and lose a QB for the titans in the process, while not addressing the glaring front 7 holes on the browns? this is really confusing and making no sense.

Thats why he was fired. Luckily I was contacted in time to prevent another Herschel Walker senario.

What 7 holes? One filled by Bentley, I'm assuming Winslow will be SOMETHING next year, Braylon Edwards was coming into his own. My original goal was to stockpile picks and get offensive linemen, but there were no trade partners. I have a plan, and we shall see how it pans out.

Re: Mock Draft Commentary

Vernon Davis is a rare talent at TE. With the 49ers he brings an explosive option for young QB Alex Smith. With a decent receiving core Davis will add WR type speed and will open up big play options for down field threat Antonio Bryant. Davis will be an immediate impact player and will help the weak offense of the 49ers.

front 7, as in DL and LB, if you read the info, Crennel's biggest holes exist on the DL and LB positions (that need starters to fill them).

at OL: Shaffer, Bentley (huge FA signings), Andruzzi (big FA from last year), Tucker, Faine.. and Colemen and Hallen are very good backups/spot starters too. So I'm not sure why the browns would be going after OL (when it has no obvious holes and 2 good subs) with a gaping hole at RE, a 32year old LE, a 38 year old DT, 34year old LB, and huge holes at #2 ILB and OLB.

Re: Mock Draft Commentary

Jay Cutler is a young QB with a big arm. The Lions have all the weapons they need to have a big play offense, except at QB. Jay Cutler will be a QB who can step right in and lead this offense.

Re: Mock Draft Commentary

Reggie was a no brainer. I do think the team will be better off with D'Brickashaw, but only slightly. What the Texans couldn't physically do with great pass blocking, can be done with play action if the back commands respect. Reggie is the one of 2 players in the draft that commands this type of respect. A trade down was not possible.

The other was Vernon Davis. Good pick.

Re: Mock Draft Commentary

Right, I just really don't see Bush being the elite back he is being billed as. I just look at his entire team and they were basically all-stars (hence my reasoning behind taking DW). DW played on a no-name team and put up HUGE numbers. I was also considering Maroney. I don't think that Droughns is the answer for the Browns.
