Royal Flushed
Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Buffalo Bills have reached agreement with free agent TE Robert Royal (Redskins) on five-year, $10 million deal that includes a $2.5 million signing bonus.

Re: Royal Flushed
What? At this rate all of the decent FA will be gone before we sign just one.

Re: Royal Flushed
Jesus! Who the hell did he blow for that? That is a vintage Snyder type contract. I am glad we didn't spend that kind of money on him. He was serviceable at a cheap price. He will now be stealing a paycheck with that contract.

Re: Royal Flushed
I think Robert Johnson can turn into a pretty decent TE for the skins, plus I believe Gibbs and Co will either sign someone or draft a TE.

Re: Royal Flushed
good for him. I thought Royal was a good guy, true, he did have some absolutely horrible games last year, i.e. the four dropped passes game, but i thought he was still serviceable. Now we have to get someone to replace him.

Re: Royal Flushed
Wonder who Saunders and co have in mind as a TE?
Never felt Royal stepped up to the next level...

Re: Royal Flushed
Good luck to Robert Royal. He worked hard here, and had a few bad games, but overall did what he was asked in the offense. I can't say the Redskins were willing to offer him that kind of money.

Re: Royal Flushed
with the lack of day 1 picks, i'd bet on a FA TE signing instead of drafting one.

Re: Royal Flushed
That's ridiculous money for Royal. Robert Johnson doesn't seem like too much of a step down. Also, blocking tight end is the type of position that cries out "undrafted free-agent".
