CFL Versus NFL Game
Hey Guys:
I have been a big fan of both the NFL and the CFL for years. I was wondering what, if any interest, may come from a possible CFL all-star team versus an NFL team? Do you think that it would create any interest from the NFL? I believe that the CFL all-star team may give an NFL team a real run for their money. What do the rest of you think? |

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game
Welcome bro.
I think a game like that would be in the CFL's best interest as most Americans [that I know of] really are not interested in the CFL. Personally I like th NFLEurope better as those players make NFL teams on a more regular basis. It "could" happen but I don't think it will. Hail Skins!

HELLLLLLL NOOOOOOO! There is a reason that guys play in the CFL, its because their skills are not ready for the NFL. Any game like the one described above would be a blow out. And please don't go into the fact that several players from the CFL have later gone into the NFL, that is the exception. Yes, the CFL has given us Warren Moon and Doug Flutie, but the lineman and linebackers in the NFL would run over and through any CFL team of allstars. That's just my opinion. |

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game
The NFL would never go for it. Publicly, the NFL *thinks* of the CFL as a developmental league and doesn’t have NFL caliber players. To have NFL players playing CFL players would invalidate that perception…not only that but they’d be advertising the CFL by playing them.
I doubt the CFL’s best player can go toe to toe with the NFL’s best. They’d get a good thrashing. Can the CFL's best beat USC or Texas? I'm not sure!

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game
Why would we send NFL all stars when any college team in the top 25 could whoop the all-stars from America Jr?

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game
49ers would kill an all star team from canada. USC and Texas could probably beat an allstar team almost all there starters are goin to play for the NFL not the CFL.

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game
And, armchair, you can call it speculating, but when top CFL QB's barely crack the roster in the NFL - that's gotta tell you something. Flutie lit up the CFL - yet was never anything more than a servicable starter in the NFL.

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game
I understand you point. I guess my question is: Do guys from the CFL who are in their option years and can sign with an NFL team get a fair shot at making the team? While Flutie is an example one can point out a guy like Warren Moon who actually "lit" up the NFL more than he did his first five years in the CFL. I just don't see how we can make an absolute claim either way until such a game happens. That's all I am trying to point out.
