What if we lose??
I know we must think positive but right before watching a movie i told my friend today that i would be the happiest person in the world if the skins win sunday. My friend then asked me what if they lose? I said I would be content because i would still consider this a successful season. But as the movie started i was swept with this fear of losing. Could the eagles in their last dying breath take us with them? The devistation I will feel will be unmatched. The last 4 games all to waste. I was thinking about Moss and portis breaking 1500 yards but none of that matters. I want a playoff game. I NEED a playoff game. The last time there was a playoff game I was 11 and to dumb and ignorant to realize that this is football and this is the playoffs. Us fans can't go another year, Oh No we can't go another week without playoffs.
How will you feel if all does not work out and in an instant the season is over? The season will just end. What the hell will i do, all of a sudden there will be no redskins stuff left to talk about . Nothing left to think about!! No football for 9 months NO FOOTBALL FOR 9 months!! The season can be over in an instant. Could we have only 2 more days of redskins 2005 football?? How can it end just like that. Just end. What happens? Will the players talk or will all disapear. Where will they go? How will you all feel if we somehow don't make it? What if it is because of a ref? Tuck rull? What the hell is the tuck rule? Will the season be so much of a success that you can feel content or will you feel this was the cruelest season in years making us exited for weeks without being able to celebrate because of the ending us skins fans know all to well? |

Re: What if we lose??
This, up to this point, has been the best season of Redskin football since i've been a fan. Even beating out 1999. If we lose on Sunday, that will probaboly all be erased. We need to win, and I think we will win. As long as we show up ready to play, we'll be fine. I dont think Gibbs will let this team look ahead in the slightest.

Re: What if we lose??
I think us younger guys are just excited at the possibility that we could be going. All i've ever experianced with this team is heartbreak. I'm sure more of it could be coming, but I'm really optomistic that its not this weekend.

Re: What if we lose??
if the redskins lose, i know it will be because i didn't deck myself out in redskins fan gear from top to bottom. IF the redskins lose while i am wearing all that, i will know it's because i didn't give my all as a fan of the redskins.

Being 41, I've ridden quite the roller coaster of emotions with this team. Having been raised as an Army brat, I've moved all over the world... but it was in the late 60's that I lived in PG County (Oxen Hill) when the whole "fandom" thing took over. I moved my wife and 3 sons (15, 12, and 10) from California 4 years ago.... even then I was raising my boys to be Redskins fans... would take them to see them play the Raiders, and the (then LA) Rams. It was a tough chore selling them on a team that had not had a winning season during their exsistance... but it stuck. Now, living up in Cecil county, every year we go to the training camp, draft day party, took them to Ravens scrimmage. It is an awesome feeling seeing these 3 boys of mine clamber on the sectional, kick on the 50"... "DAD!... the game is about to start! You are going to miss the kick-off..." LMAO, like they don't think I know when the game starts. They just get so excited... So... back to the thead.... It would be very devistating! I don't even like to think that way. My #2 son sounds like BSB, can't sleep, this is all he can talk about. Throwing me different kinds of scenarios... what if Ramsey does start? Do you think the Eagles are going to be the spoilers? How about Norv, Dad, don't you think they will really try to beat the Giants so he can do his old team a favor? LOL... yeah, there is a lot of excitement around this house. The Redskins flag is already hanging outside, one on the Jeep too. All are decked in burg ang gold for the day.... the boys save their jerseys for game day. So much tradition/superstition around here. I don't like to think about a loss. My house will be in mourning.... shades will be pulled, lights off in th house, garage door down... |

Re: What if we lose??
After 42 years of cheering for the Redskins, you take things in stride. Some of the losses are just a meaningful as the wins. Sonny Jurgensen was an exciting player on awful Redskins teams. That Clint Longley game still sticks. Those things just made me care for the team more.
If they lose to the Eagles today, I'll focus on how 9-7 is much better than 6-10 and on Monday will say "just wait until next year." Of course, Sunday night, I'll kick the dog and beat my children. ![]() The Eagles could go 0-6 in the NFC East and that must really stick in their craw. THAT worries me the most. The Redskins should be ready and I expect them to win. |

Re: What if we lose??
Looks like you won't have to take the blame mooby reid has given up!
http://www.washtimes.com/sports/2005...4629-8244r.htm Eagles coach Andy Reid apparently doesn't see his team standing in the Redskins' way, saying, "You guys are going to be in the playoffs, fired up and ready to go. You won't have to worry about me." -Written by some guy named David Elfin hmmmmm i think i heard that guy had a habit of taking things out of context:smashfrea |
