Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
I know a lot of people love Orakpo and probably think I'm crazy for suggesting we trade him. I like the guy a lot too, but it's obvious that he doesn't fit the 3-4 as well as he fits the 4-3. His production has decline each year mainly because he's playing out of position. He's more a 4-3 de than a 3-4 olb. I would consider trading him to move up and acquire a higher pick or more picks. Right now, he has a lot of value.
In my opinion, Trent Williams is a average LT. He has had some good games here and there. I just believe that Smith has outperformed him against some really tough competition. This makes TW expendable in my book. If we can trade him and get some picks or use him as bait to move up in the draft I would be all for it. What do you think? |

Orakpo yes.
TW yes, But I don't think teams want a pot smoker right now.

Orakpo, maybe a first definitely a second and either another second or a third.
Williams, pre-pot a 2nd and 4th, post-pot 3rd.

You're crazy. The asking price for a franchise LT has been set as a late first round pick. As seen in the Jason Peters trade.

4th rounders average out to special teamers or solid starters with little potential to even make the Pro-Bowl. You'd be ****ing stupid to give out a 4th.

You don't accept less than a first for Rak. You don't accept less than a high second plus something else valuable for TW, and that's including the weed-smoking discount. Trading TW and/or Rak for someone like Luck is one thing. But it is baffling how some folks in this thread want to give away our best players for almost nothing.

Talent would win out over concerns of marijuana use. The Redskins wouldn't be trying to send a message like the Steelers did with Santonio Holmes. If they were to trade Trent in the near future they would try to get full value which as I mentioned before would amount to a late first early 2nd. Of course all of this trade talk is a moot point .

In the Peters trade, the Eagles werent just trading for him, they were also making a decision to give him $40 million dollars, saving the Bills that cost.

Re: Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
Like others have said, factor in the marijuana not once but 3 times he's been caught, plus the fact that he has a poor work ethic and gets lazy at times. He's just a good tackle, not a great tackle. Franchise tackle, No. And yeah the Jason Peters trade occured, but Jason Peters, IMO, is more motivated and about as athletic as trent. He also has no off the field problems like Trent now does. So if I'm looking at Trent and I'm another team that needs a tackle the most I'm giving up for him is a 3rd. I wouldn't want to risk him smoking and missing games again, because clearly he has a problem if he's smoking and getting caught that much.

Re: Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
I'm not turning on anyone. I just don't think Orakpo fit our defensive system. I would be better for him and the organization to make a trade where he can play in a system that fits his skill set and we get a get a olb that fits ours. I never really liked Trent Williams. I think he has the potential to be a all pro ot, however, he hasn't shown me much on the field. I would trade him in a heart beat.

Re: Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
Well, my gues is TW is worth a third or fourth at this point, and Orakpo, a second or third. Now if it gets us Luck or Bradford, I would be in. But this starts the rebuilding all over.
