I know. First Jenkins, then Lichenstein, T.Williams, Grossman, Moss, Hightower, and now Cooley. Wow.

Paulson played well in his stead though.

Everything seemed possible before the bye, now, not so much.

I don't see that this affects us a lot, seems like his playing time had been steadily decreasing.

All I can say, is this is now definitely MS' team, for good or bad. Even the stalwarts of the previous era are falling, Moss, Cooley, even Fletch was out a bit last week. Time for us to see what our future holds.

Bottom line, it's time for the young guys to step up.

I may be the only who feels this way, but none of these injuries are deal breakers, save London, and this team can still make a run.

Well I don't feel like we're going to make a run but it's time for some of the young guys to get some game experience.

This has been a season full of surprises and the unexpected. Who would have thought teams like KC and Philly, among others, look like they're ready to climb back into the hunt.

These guys are professionals, if they want it bad enough it can happen.

People harped on the young WRs over the Carolina loss and that was a bit unfair, considering they really haven't got much real playing time, with the exception of Austin. Paul and Hankerson will do OK once they are fully integrated into the offense, and Austin will improve as well.

As optimistic as I was at the beginning, for me it's hard not to see this thing going into a tailspin. We're last in the NFC in turnover ratio, 4th last in the league -- that's the only thing that's correctable. Otherwise, we have all the classic problems: Mediocre QB, no gamebreakers on offense. Hell, Moss was our biggest threat and even he hasn't been superstar material lately. Best you can say for Gaffney and Stallworth is that they're competent.

And apparently, asking young WRs like Paul, Hankerson, and Austin to step up and perform is a herculean task; 2-3 year learning curve rule for wideouts and all. Why does it always seem so hard for the Redskins to get some dynamic playmakers?

Probably because we haven't focused on having a fundamentally sound team for the last decade. Playmakers are great, and I agree that we need to find one, two, or even 3, BUT, when our team fails at the simple things of pass protection, run blocking, or defensive pressure, the playmakers we have brought in (Moss, Portis, etc) generally fail. In most cases you have to have a sound team before you can have an explosive team. I believe we are doing better at building a sound team, admittedly- the last two weeks seem to argue against that.
